Excellent video with helpful tips. Judging by the colour of your fly line, I’m assuming you’re using a floating line? In the summer, do you switch to sink tips or full sinking line?

It is a floating line, in the spring and fall I'm using an indicator with the floating line. Never had much luck in the summer so I stopped trying, they are just too deep.

@@DavidPhamChannel Thank you for your tips as I was successful in landing my first lake whitefish at Sylvan Lake. I caught a total of 3 at depths between 8 and 12 feet. However I used full sinking line instead and used a size 12 San Juan worm.

Thanks so much for sharing was wondering how deep do you usually fish from your indicator to your fly?
@DavidPhamChannel

Really depends on many factors. Its best to try different depths until you hook up but if you are seeing them at the surface a length of less than a couple feet should be fine. Your best chances are in the morning while they are active.

Thanks for the tips. Where in the lake do you look for these fish? Any particular kind of structure? Over weeds?

On morning in the spring and fall the fish will be cruising in the shallows in less than 10 feet of water. I'm relatively close to the shore probably 30-50 feet but I've seen people catching them directly from shore. In the video I wasn't fishing any particular sub-structure, I was fishing where a piece of land protrudes into the lake. I find as the fish swim around these protrusions they concentrate to the tip of the land. Hope that makes sense.
