@@tanishavfx first of all calm down because if you keep panicking there's no way anything is going into your head. Sit down and make list of things you need to study for the exam. Refer to previous year question papers and you'll get an idea what is most important and prioritise them accordingly. And if you still have no idea, talk to your teachers and let them help you with the important topics. Divide the topics into the number of days you have and try as hard as you can to finish each day's targets, study the most important topics first. And keep the past year papers as a guide. Don't study passively because you'll be wasting time. Test yourself on the things you'll be covering as you go. Also, try removing all the distractions you might have and focus. You still have plenty of time if don't waste any of it. Lastly, you've got this and just start. All the best.

I don't know if I have ADHD because I've never gotten diagnosed, sometimes I do feel symptoms described by people who have adhd, my approach has been to put on adhd focus music that you can easily find on youtube and after having an important realization about myself(probably true for most people), which is that the reason why I cannot focus on studying is that I might have easy access to sources of high dopamine delivering mediums, like ig, youtube, what I learnt though was that when I set rules on myself to stop engaging with these mediums(for anything other than studies) and put on focus music.... my brain will want to actually start doing something... I've leveraged this into cutting back/setting rules on everything that is not study related until studying is the only option for my brain to get out of boredom... other things I try to utilize is routine... when you plan out and slowly start to "live out" the routine you have set for max productivity/life balance, it feels as if there's much less friction/resistance from the brain towards studying when you're going for. Lastly I think it's really important to give yourself the time to learn yourself, what methods may work best for you etc. Good luck you got this, and goodluck to everyone

At this point, I've got 3 months of stuff overdue to do... and I started 3 months. Yeah, you figured it out - it's my first time I'm studying something and I got big problems with concentration, my dopamine level and especially just starting. Believer of "waiting for the right moment" to start. Well, I clicked on the video that fast, because I thought it's that moment NOW. A sign, I guess? So I got what I wanted, but now it's time to act. I got work in 2 hours and I will try to finish at least one small topic which should take like 20mins. After work, I will finish my next task, which shouldn't take more than 1h. More than good effort for DAY 1 I think. Let's get started, will update this comment for myself to experience a bit of accountability. Hope that some of you watching the video or reading this comment could take something away for their own personal situation! Edit: Task 1 done, now off to work. Tackling task 2 afterwards 💪 Task 2 took some time, still procrastinated, but I did a rough draft, telling myself it doesn't have to be perfect. Looking forward to day 2 & more. 😊

One more comment to say how great this was - currently behind due to a delayed class (thanks lockdown) and have an exam next week, decided to skip the 8 hours of lectures and pull the key info on big topics from KZitem and other uni sources (great idea - explained better in a fraction of the time), but I still need to catch up on the other bits of info. Thankfully have some time off over Xmas so will make a calendar and make sure I'm set for part two of this semester. Thanks Nasir! Perfect timing ☺

I started college (physics major) this year, I used to be the person that was basically doing nothing and still got away with it, I've never double a year. A fews weeks after starting college I started not going to class anymore in addition to never working at home, I was telling my self that I would catch up fews weeks before the exams of december like I use to do. But as they were getting closer and closer a fear that crippled me from doing anything arrived. I only went to my physics exam but I didnt even return it, I was to asshamed. Since then I'm feelling bad about my self and i'm to scare to start catching up, I literaly have no idea where to start and I'm too proud to ask for help. Now I have to catch everything up in a month, I hope that I will manage to pass the biggest exams in june and the rest in September. NB: I never post any youtube comment but I don't know why posting this makes me feel better and gives me motivation to start. + sorry for the potential mistakes, english is not my native language

Wanna share my experience here. I am a student at another country, and this year didn’t start for me well as I had huge problems with my residency and visa. All in all, studying really fell out of my priorities at that time, and then I had to leave to my homeland to renew my visa. I thought I would be away for a month or so. But that month then turned into three and a half. New semester started, and I still was waiting for my visa. I hoped I would be able to study at home, but I should mention that sadly, it’s not the best place for my mental health. I felt ashamed of not being at uni, at my lessons, I had a lot of intrusive and bad thoughts, my harmful habits returned. And I couldn’t reach out for help ‘cause of shame. Uh. I am now back at uni and behind for a whole semester of work. I missed my exams, which I will be retaking in the summer. So i tried different tactics there. The one that worked - stick to the syllabus. I was trying to catch up by prioritizing the material I missed, but it just didn’t work. I didn’t really need that material, and started falling in the current syllabus, so I left that tactic. STICK TO THE SYLLABUS, that’s the best solution for you. And yes, don’t focus only on your studies. Go out with friends, get a waffle with cup of coffee or whatever at some cafe, get yourself a new T-shirt. It really helps not to feel drowned in your problems and studies. YOUR LIFE SHOULDN’T CIRCLE JUST AROUND STUDYING. I’ll be going to the office to ask about tutoring sessions during holidays, so wish me luck with my studies hehe

My only problem is underestimating the time I need to accomplish a task. Because I'm unfamiliar with the contents or difficulty of the task during planning. When I continuously get stuck in a task, can't seem to get help, i lose confidence to finish it. Then I start to procrastinate to avoid feeling stressed about doing the task. It gets even worst if I get no support from teachers or friends. RIP. I wish there was an app that could estimate the average time I need to do a task.

Thank you for posting this video. I needed this so I could catch on my thesis (for my masters degree in music therapy). I should have been working on it since the beginning of the semester. But other assignments in other classes were more of a priority. So, my thesis took a backseat. Because of this, I’m scrambling to get something sufficient in or I’m failing. I don’t want to fail because this may impact plans for graduating in May. I also made a promise to my dad (who is financial support) that I would graduate in May. I’m really struggling. But this video (along with the email my professor sent) gave me the ultimate wake up call. So, thank you again.

I would've wished to have this knowledge and discipline before university. Is funny how just that I'm about to finish my studies is when I got this habit created. I struggled a lot with time management but after some difficult times It was a life lesson to understand and acknowledge. Is important to know just how valuable time management really is and how it can be a good allly if you use it correctly, it can also be a big pain in the ass when you don't care about it.

Did you succeed? I was also far behind and had to quit my job but still need to pay rent 😬 so now I'm working a less mentally taxing job...still a few weeks behind

I remember in freshman bio, our teacher used to give us such long and boring worksheets and didn’t grade them until the end of the unit, so I’d put them off and then when end of unit came I’d see like 10 assignments in google classroom pending. So what I did was snuggle into bed, open my iPad and start from what I already knew i could finish to gain momentum, i started at 9pm and finished all my assignments except one - i didn’t have the document because I was absent the day it was given - by 1 in the morning I was exhausted but so happy to go to school feeling more on top of my work than before, after that my pending work had two assignments left, which I finished after giving my important tests, so it’s not impossible but it does require sacrifice, I’m thankful I’m seeing this before the new school year because last year I was an absolute mess😭🥰

I feel like it was fate seeing this video on my feed XD. I feel like I'm behind and keep turning in late work and this video made me feel a little better. My only worry is that professors constantly say they don't accept late work and it scares me when I turn it in late because I should've done better. Yet, someone in the comments reminded me that I'm only human and make mistakes. Even if those mistakes keep happening, I should go and get help rather than feel sorry (or be punished). Anyways, great video!

I have issues w time management and INSANE procrastination habits. It doesn’t help that our uni gives us one big exam at the end of two modules so I have nothing to motivate me to study through the semester, I hate it lol. the exam is in January so I hope I don’t fail and start with a fresh new slate w the next two modules LETS GE TO WORK

Seriously the concepts of assessing the amount of time each task will require then scheduling them. The missing links in my to-do list. Thanks
