Sorry Anthony, I did laugh when you spilt the diesel. We’ve all done it at one time or another. Not as bad as tripping over the drain pan after doing an oil change🙂. Thanks for all the good info.

Darren Daz 1 minute ago hi anthony, thanks for your channel,i was told to run my fuel tank down to a quarter of a tank, and not to keep it topped up, or it will hold old diesel in there for too long, do you agree with this? and feedback would be great, thanks Darren

When I prime mine, its leaks from somewhere, the engine will start then stall after 20 seconds or so; i assume my filter housing is stuffed?

I use plastic golf T’s to plug small hoses, being tapered they are a universal snug fit.

Use Valvoline vps brake parts cleaner with the wurth pump sprayer, good for all engine plastics rather than cheap stuff.

How often should you change the diesel filter. I own a 2022 Land cruiser prado 150 2.8 1GD-FTV... and to be honest it has 38,000kms... and it has the original fuel filter that came with the car since i bought it new in june 2022... Recently I noticed it and asked for it to be changed... what i discovered is that its not part of the service they do here in Panama... LITERALLY WE HAVE TO BRING THE CAR TO SERVICE FOR AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 3 MONTH OR 5000KMS ... BUT NOO DIESEL FILTER CHANGEE....

Good video. Sorry about the spill, I felt for you - in retrospect, the dish wasn't a good shape, if one wishes to avoid spills.

Thanks. The close ups helped. Mine wasn't squarw and thus not fully tightened. I did this just by removing the top cap and the electric wire. 35000 km and filter wasn't looking too bad. They cost 2-4 bucks here in Thailand so dirt cheap. (AISIN). Counterfeit Toyota filters cost 1.5 USD.

What is the black stuff in the filter that it's catching? And if small amounts get through filter would that be what wears out injectors?

Another tip is to get a spare filter housing bracket from the wreckers and place that in the vice. Makes undoing and tightening the filter housing so Much easier. Repeatedly holding the housing in a vice will damage the housing.

OMG, what a simple but fantastic trick…using (obviously clean) right size drill bits to plug the fuel hoses. Why didn’t I think of that!! Love simple tips like this that cost nothing. Thanks Anthony
