Do not over look the fact that you need a 10 point socket for the front brake caliper. It says it in the tools needed but I over looked it.

Seems like covering the bleed process in detail would be a good idea since it is different from most other cars.

No one wants to talk about it because of the issues you can run into. This guy does an okay job but doesn't show everything: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yX96nWenhKSDlKw&lc=UgwoQ6WjCPKY0ftsomJ4AaABAg.9pAwahjl5FJ9tJMeaZEqmS

how come you did not use a special brake rotor thickness caliper to check for taper wear of the brake rotor wear faces.. when the rotors wear at a taper.. when you replace the pads only. you end up with the calipers being parallel.. the pads being parallel.. the rotors being tapered. so when the brakes are applied the pads don't contact the full surface of the rotor.. something has to shift.. usually the caliper pistons .. this causes a spongy brake pedal that no amount of bleeding will get rid of.. huge hint to people who drive their cars hard.. have a new set of brake rotors ready to install.. but if your rotors are only partially worn.. small ridge.. better brake parts suppliers have skilled techs to turn rotors a fraction of an inch to restore parallel surfaces without getting down to the wear limit.. additional hint.. thinner brake rotors get hot quicker.. so use the machined rotors for street driving and new rotors for race days.. sorry to comment but this is the actual facts about it.. i have been a professional tech for over 40 years..

Wayne-this is a valid point but we did look at the rotors and there was no taper. I ran the replacement pads until this week with lots of track days and autocrosses. Replaced the stock pads with Hawk HP+ and new rotors. Absolutely agree that turned/resurfaced rotors will heat up quicker. Thanks for your comments.

Great video and I learned so much!!!! May I please have the part number for the torque wrench you used. I need to purchase that one for my toolbox. Thank you so much.

Great Video, except that it doesn't mention the need for a specialized 10 point 9mm caliper socket. It is listed in the tools list, but then when the video gets to that point it doesn't mention it at all. He mentions every other step in the video and then just removes the 10 point bolt silently. A quick voice-over added there would really help out.

For the Z51, it's not a 10 point 9mm. I bought that and it doesn't fit :( Got a clue what it is?

You should follow the service manual and discard the brake pad pins. There is also NOTHING in the manual that says to use thread locker on those bolts. VERY BAD ADVICE.
