Thank you for this information! It helped a lot! Happy to see all that condensation…..I was wondering if our had too much but it looks about the same. We are on our second try of hatching, we learned a lot from our first round that didn’t go well.

Yeah sometimes it just doesn't go well remember if you get too too much humidity in there you can always just open it up for a minute or open the air holes. But in some cases you can let too much humidity out and then you got to work at building it back up again. I think you'll be all right you'll have a good turnout how many more days you got left before they come out. And since I'm posting a video on this topic every week now be sure and let me know how your second try turned out. Thank you for watching and commenting Kristy. Keep in touch my friend.

What about using the egg trays for a fridge at lockdown? I would they they would withstand the temps.
@TsquareTalk

So that I think would work great especially if they're the plastic ones I think they would would stand the temperature because a lot of times you can put them in the dishwasher and the dishwasher gets up to that I believe in the sterilization phase. They wouldn't wrap they wouldn't be packed apart That could actually work but I have not been lucky enough to find some but I'm keeping my eyes open now for them Great comment great idea. Let me know if you hatch some out how they do. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Thanks for the video, have 2 of these full of guinea eggs and a few peafowl eggs. Humidity is always what confuses me the most about using these since you have to kind of guess how much water to add etc. We have the styrofoam egg cartons so maybe I'll try hatching one of the groups using those.
@TsquareTalk
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think you would have good luck with the styrofoam The only problem with the Styrofoam that I've had once they hatch they will start pecking it and trying to eat it and the styrofoam depending on the type can break down and get chipped away. Like I said I would love to find a way to get a nice plastic one. If you do leave the Turner in make sure you unplug it just before they start to hatch. And yes you're 100% right The humidity sometimes requires a little bit of guessing however I've had good luck by filling the incubator at the start then on the10th or 11th day I will fill it a second time. But I keep a little spray bottle handy if I need to up the humidity I will crack it open just a little bit on the side squirt some water in there almost like a little bit of rain and it will jump the humidity level. The tape on the holes helps keep the humidity locked in removing the tape will actually allow it out. Thank you so much for watching and commenting sfortbuf. I hope you have a great weekend keep in touch my friend and let me know how they turn out. I've never had guineas I've always wanted to get some.

So in those incubators it comes out to almost 100 degrees it's like 98° 99°. As long as the item is easy to wash and they can withstand that temperature they should. But your comment actually just got me thinking about something cuz I have a friend of mine that Prince me out stuff in plastic and he can print hard plastic so I may actually asked him to look up if you can design something like that. So really great comment Eliza. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I'm guessing if you stumbled across this video you must be incubating eggs yourself hopefully have a great turnout keep in touch let me know how everything goes I love to hear people's stories and experiences. I really really like that idea I actually think I'm going to try that out I'm thinking about driving to the Dollar tree right now to see if they have some. I think that's phenomenal idea. Only thing that might make it difficult if the eggs actually fit in the ice tray that could make it difficult for the baby chicks to pop the egg open. Because they couldn't peck around the sides and then break it open. But if it just sits on top of it that could be a phenomenal plan. Thank you for watching and commenting Google user. I hope you have a great weekend.

@TsquareTalk

If you're in the early stages as in the first couple weeks it's not a big deal Hopefully you have the caps out on the cover that we can get a little more air circulating in there. Also periodically if you see the humidity is really high and you're early on and you want all you got to do is just open it up for a quick second do not do that if you are about ready to hatch your chickens You need the higher humidity at that point The humidity is important but it's not as important in the beginning. And remember mother nature is resilient which means they'll hatch most likely You just may not hatch them all in fact realistically you probably will not hatch them all average hatch rate that I hear people get is usually 70% Best hatch rate I ever had was like 98% 95% something like that I have like four that didn't hatch out of the whole thing but that is extremely rare so do not panic if you get a dozen that don't hatch I can't remember if it holds 42 If you get 30 you done well. Most important thing I can suggest just cuz the day comes due don't instantly throw away all your bad eggs give them a couple days when I first started I went through in my eggs the next day and I started hearing tweeting and I ran them all back in to put them back in the incubator I only got one more out of it but every baby chick counts. Good luck keep in touch but if you have a question put it as a new comment not a reply only because I don't see replies but the new comments I do see. As always great advice thanks. 96 eggs on lockdown hopefully hatch Saturday. Have you tried the dry incubation method till lockdown then ad water?
@TsquareTalk
Жыл бұрын
🐣'I got to be honest I've never heard of the dry incubator method until lockdown then add water" guessing that means exactly what it is Just put the eggs in don't add water until the last few days. Not only am I curious to try it but I may actually try it running dual incubators to see if one works better than the other.🐣🐥 If all goes well with this incubation that comes out on Sunday which is the day after yours then I'm thinking about running that method and the normal method on two separate incubators.🐤 I also just got a lesser expensive model that cost less but it doesn't have all the extra gadgets. To do some kind of a comparison. With that being said thank you so much for watching and commenting please be sure to keep me posted how yours turn out. 🐤I love hearing people's stories 96 that sounds exciting. If you have a good turnout that is going to be an awesome flock. 🐥Especially because they'll all be the same in age. In the past it's kind of been a little more of a pain in the butt to have them a month apart because one month makes a difference between them🐥 picking on the smaller ones basically. Thanks again and have a great weekend.🙂

The only way to lower the humidity is to let it out by opening out the caps on the top the more air flow the less humidity unless you live in a real humid area and then it can be difficult because even the external temperature is humid. If you have any questions just ask in a new comment I don't see replies but I do see a lot of the new comments. Thank you for watching and commenting you have a great one my friend

I have farm innovators model 2100 and I’m trying to keep my humidity around 60%. I’m on day 4 incubation and it’s gotten kinda closer to 70% a few different times. The trays are filled, I have two small skinny trays and one skinny square shaped one. It’s mostly stayed at 60% but this morning I woke up and it was at 70%. I took some water out, and it got higher. So I put the water back in and it was back to 60% in probably 20 minutes. It’s staying around that now, but it’s just like it was before at this point. So basically I’m just wandering why it does get higher at times? The humidity in my house is 61% and usually stay around 50-60%. I’m so very confused and really want these ducks to hatch, send help plz 🤣

Yeah definitely keep me posted Fred. One thing to consider to next time I would end up trying to fill it if at all possible because You can see your numbers just slowly dwindle you know first You only hatch out half for a little over half then as soon as you move them over to the broider some catch a cold and don't make it and then once you move them outside you realize maybe you got some imperfections in your setup in a couple little ones get out and don't make it or get eaten or something.

Yeah they're super cool the first week. Really they're cool for a while I love them. Like little minions That's what I always think about when they run around You literally can throw one snack in there or one little treat and one will pick it up and just start running and all of them will follow it. It always makes me laugh when I do it just before I feed them I usually do that. Some people say it's mean but I think it's kind of funny they're all going to eat in another minute or two after that. Gives them some good little exercise. Thank you for watching and commenting Glenn.

@Tsquare Talk how do we lower the humidity? My humidity is running mid to high 60s and I am only 2 days in to my first incubation.
@TsquareTalk
Жыл бұрын
@@mariahwendling3165 Make sure that the red plugs are off on the top and make sure all the holes on the top are open and not taped up. I would then open the incubator by just lifting it straight up for about 30 seconds to a minute That will change the air out and you will lose a lot of the humidity in that process. It's a temp fixed but I still think you'll be fine even with high humidity. High humidity is a whole lot easier to fix than lower humidity but both are fixable. WoW Nice, at this point I would give it an extra day and see if anything else happens but after that I would consider reloading it and giving it another go to It's a little bit of a pain in the butt but there's so many people out there right now trying to buy baby chicks to start raising chickens that it's an easy opportunity for you to make your money back off of the price of the incubator. Or get a good jump on your flock size. This is a good chance you will probably lose a couple over the next two months. A lot of times when people move them outside they miss something they don't have a great setup and 1 or 2 gets taken or eaten. With that being said great job Fred.

How do you lower the humidity if all of the holes are uncovered? The level on my incubator is 76% right now with all of the holes open.
@TsquareTalk
5 ай бұрын
Depending on how far along you are your humidity is going to be a little higher in the beginning when you first set it up because there's a lot of water at the bottom so I will actually periodically open it up real quick and just let the air change out and then shut it however I have heard of people living in high humidity areas and it's almost impossible to lower it because just the humidity in the air outside of the incubator is high. With that being said don't give up because it's not the end of the world if the humidity is high low humidity that can be very bad I've seen that kill off the chickens cuz it will as soon as they pack a hole that low humidity will get in there and dry out the inside of the egg and it almost shrink wraps them and then they can't get out That doesn't happen till the first pack I've had to manually open up a couple of eggs very carefully and let them out I don't like doing that because they're a little bit weaker because getting out of the egg that process is nature's Way of kind of toughening them up. With that being said no matter what your results are just keep going until the whole 21 days and then still add a couple days because I've had latecomers 2 days after everybody else I went to go throw away the eggs and I heard a tweet and so I put them all back in and then a little later another one came out. He was very lucky to not go in the trash. Yeah mine actually going to lock down tomorrow too but I lock mine down at 2 days sometimes 36 hours. So I'm super excited I think yours will turn out well Heather. Definitely keep in touch. It's always great to hear how other people's flocks are doing and stuff Plus you have an opportunity to see other cool ideas. Out of curiosity you going to fill it again?? If I were you I would start rotating them in terms of as soon as they're all out make sure you wait a few days at least a day or two after because sometimes you get a late or a couple late bloomers. But if I was you I would fill it again and then I would print out a sheet that says baby chicks for sale $2.50 each and put a sheet at the post office where you live and a street at the farmers market or tractor supply or something near you. This will give you a good opportunity to one put the money towards food or other things and two it could also help you put the money back to replace the money you spend on your incubator. That was the very first thing I did was sold enough to pay off my incubator that I had boughten It doesn't take much at two bucks a piece hatch out a batch sell them all then hatch out another batch sell them all before you know it you get all your incubator money back. I was trying to teach my son about business and investing and stuff and trying to make your money back and then still have something. And then with that profits they made from it that's what kind of got him into collecting silver He would take that money and buy a silver coin here and there. And now a lot of them silver coins are drastically going up in price because of inflation. They've gone from $16 to $29 and I think they're only going to keep going up. Without all being said thank you so much for watching and commenting Heather Please be sure to keep in touch also I can't wait to hear how yours turn out. 🐣🐤🐥
