Great video! Sadly this is a prime example of today's engineering. You have a filter that needs to be replaced periodically, it should be in a place that is obvious and easy to access.

Nah....this is just Ford engineering. Most of the barnds make this process fairly quick and simple. Only Ford makes you dismantle parts of yoir dash to get to the cabin filter.....Even Germans make this shit simple....if you look at all the space they have to make filter more accessible......

To the commenters thinking this is a difficult change, search “2016 Nissan Murano in cabin air filter change”! It takes 8 screws and removing a big chunk of the passenger side dash to do that one! Oh, and if you want to get a higher quality filter for that vehicle, it’ll be a bear to get it in because the enclosure the filter comes out of is smaller than the filter itself. You have to beat the shit out of the filter to get it in, I’m sure performance of filter is great after that! Could the F-150 change be easier? Yes, but this is one of the easier units to change on a vehicle that I’ve done.

Thanks for the video. I bought a 2017 F150 3 months ago and I'm changing the oil and all three filters now just to be safe. I had trouble getting the front plastic piece off (the one with the screws), it felt like there was an extra clip on the right side that wouldn't pop loose. I finally got it out, sure I was about to break it. When I pulled out the old cabin filter, it looked like the original that was installed at the factory (6+ years ago). I'd like to say it's the dirtiest filter I've ever seen but when I changed my wife's engine air filter on her 2002 Monte Carlo, it was completely black - in spite of her having the oil and filters changed at the dealership every 3,500 miles. Guess it was too hard for them to get the air intake apart.

Pretty simple, but I can't ignore the fact that Ford engineers could've make process even faster and easier. Even Germans make this shit simple and easy comparing to Ford. Most of the time you just pop sides on the glow box and filter slot is right there.....not with Ford, you've gotta remove parts of the dashboard to get to it....
