Good, straightforward video👍. I bought my son a lightly used 2019 V6 Challenger for his first car (yeah I’m a car guy✊) and I will be using your video to teach him to do his first oil change. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

@@Lee-ul9hp right👍😂. I couldn’t afford any more kids! I have three boys AND my wife is into cars too….so I’m broke AF🙄😂. My oldest son has a VWGTi (2016); my youngest son still has at least one more year before we have to worry about him needing a car….and my wife has a 21’ type R (she previously had a ‘19 type r and an ‘18 Si). I’m still driving around my ‘13 FRS and still love that little car. The sacrifices a father makes for his kids….I’d be driving a GT3 if it weren’t for them!

Thank you for this ! Local mechanics wanted to charge me $140-152 for an oil change. With the pandemic going on. I was told it could be an entire day before they could change my oil. Nope. I’ll do it myself and save money in the process.
@johnhogan3810

I know this is an old post but please see my post a couple posts back. Oil changes are the only time a mechanic can catch other problems early. Next time plan ahead for your maintenance so waiting a "whole day" is not an issiue. You can also find shops that still hire good mechanics without charging you so much money. You can have you your work done well, or instantly, or cheaply. However you can only pick 2 of those traits in most cases.

Anyone who doesn't know how to open the hood already has no biz even doing an oil change. During this oil change is when you are looking over the car for other problems. Such as leaking from other systems for one. If you have no experiance at all, you should find someone to teach you this. You cannot assume your car is fine. Learn the warning signs or just pay a professional. Yes they will give you an annoying quote for other work. Ignorance is not bliss here. Finding problems when they are still small can save you money and maybe someone's life.

Any info on Oil Pressure readings? I haven't done an oil change on my car yet. My normal pressure is between 40psi-50psi (Hot)...at idle, 28psi-33psi On COLD when I start up my car I get 60psi-80psi if I drive off after a 2min engine start.
@darkmody
3 жыл бұрын
Usually it reads 70 to 60 psi on cold start, then it starts lowering when engine is warm, then is normalize to about 30psi idling, it will reach to 40 psi if you are crusing on 2000 rpm. The pressure goes up and down while driving depends on how you push your throttle.

BLAQJESUS BOBBY FRIEND it’s not needed, I should have clarified why I did. Gives the option to do a underbody inspection. As well as rotate tires, check inner and outer pad life etc. More for the inspection. Not needed for the oil change if you have a thin enough oil pan to catch the draining oil
