Great to see you assessing and improving all aspects of your telescope's potential performance. Looking forward to following your future imaging sessions :)

Thanks, well, as I said in the video, if I can eliminate all possible factors for bad imaging, they should be addressed :) Next up - mosaic of a long seen friend 2.5mly from us :) /Daniel

That carbon scope looks sooooo good. I'm going to paint the secondary on my dobsonian after watching this!

Indeed it does, and it is a really good quality too! Just spray thin layers and you’ll be good 👍🏻

Hello Daniel again... I have a other question: Is this mirror made in Germany? Or is it only tested in Germany? Does the certificate indicate where it was manufactured? Thanks

I have ordered Antares Secondary.. The thicknes is also double as "original" GSO one... I have mesurement report too. PV:0,064 RMS:0,011...

Antares does make very ghood mirrors as well. I choosed between Antares and TS/Wellenform but choose TS beacuse EU shipping and 0,90 plus strehl which is way beyond what my sky allows. Now, I have only my primary left :P

Hello Daniel and thank you for your informative videos. Could you tell us if there is an improvement with the new secondary mirror? or maybe not. Thanks

Hi and thanks for the feedback :) It did get a little bit better, and the data I have compared contains +100 hrs, so I am quite confident that this improvement is verified. Best regards, Daniel

It certainly will 😂 I really hope that there will be any improvement, but if not, it proves that TS stock mirrors is pretty good 👍🏻

Thanks for another informative video! I've seen you mention, and recommend, the concentric eyepiece you use for aligning the secondary mirror in a couple of your videos. Can you tell me what the make and model of that tool is?

Well thank you for the kind words. I bought my concenter eyepiece from Teleskop Service, but I have seen them on several webshops. Truly an amazing tool!

Where did you order the secondary? Thanks!

Probably doesn't matter, but thermal glues are a thing. Silicone is a pretty good insulator, but like it said, probably doesn't matter.

You are right, but after consulting Teleskop Service they said it is totally fine with regular silicone glue. I have also a very thin layer of silicone so it shouldn’t be a problem (hopefully) /Daniel

Great video! I'm looking into the TS secondaries aswell since my current secondary is almost end-of-life. 1) Do you notice much difference between this one and your old one? 2) How did you calculate what size secondary you needed to buy? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I sadly haven't got any time to process the data from the telescope with the new mirror, but have two objects with 50hrs+ data so it will be a good comparison. I just bought the same size as the former one. /Daniel

Hi Daniel, thanks for the reply! I have a 10'' f5 (1200mm) newt myself which I use for visual observation. The current secondary is a 63mm. I see you're using an 88mm. Do you recommend upgrading to a larger one for visual observation and what would the benefit be of upgrading to a larger size secondary for visuals?
@ExoPhotography1
Жыл бұрын
@@bas3919 For visual, I would go for the same size, If you go down in focal ratio (like mine f4) and for a larger image circle (when taking photos) i would go up in dimension.
