I have been looking everywhere for a basic tutorial on how to check and resolve conflicts in XEdit, as well as how/why to use both Wrye Bash and Mator Smash. Thank you for your explanation. You've earned a sub and I'll be checking out your other tutorials. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share what you know and how you go about things. Cheers!

Thanks for this vid, Gingas. There truly is NOT a lot of info about FO4Edit, or "XEdit" out there. I had no idea about the "1.0 won't load, so change the mod number to 0.95, then it will load" thing. Before your Wabbajack, I've been playing a slightly-modded Fallout 4 VR, enjoying every minute. And although the mods are often versions 1.0 or higher, I know they're all working in the game, and I'm not playing vanilla. FRIK works, and I can see it. Virtual Chems works, and I grab the Stimpak over my left shoulder. Realistic Sprinting works. The initial sprint length was LOW... now I can actually sprint for a while. Natural Green Grass mod is there, because I can see the gorgeous textures with my own eyes. I'm just trying to figure out why Xedit is so crucial, but yet, it's not talked about as openly as simply, "modding Fallout 4 VR". I'm a noob to VR and Fallout, especially. Just wondering if you could clarify the whole "1.0" and "0.95" stuff, and all of this... Vortex, Mod Organizer 2, blah blah blah. It just gives me a damn migraine, figuring it all out. If I can see the mods working, they're working, with or without Xedit... I just don't understand. Thank you!!

About 10hrs into your FO4 wabbajack, super fun so far. Nicely done. Do you have a background in Game Dev? If not how, did you get your start in modding?

Hello, Gingas, and thank you for this great tutorial. I wasn't here because of VR business, but to learn about solving mod conflicts using XEdit. And you have taught me a lot, so for that, you have my "like". Now I do have a question, if you'd be so kind as to answer: I'm just looking to clean and organize my mod list in order to play F4 in peace. Say I clean 100 mods using your method (creating a new .ESP file each time I adjust something new), does it mean I'm gonna be playing under a list 200 mods long? Considering each adjustment would consequently generate a new ESP, that is how my newbie mind sees the situation... hahah. I'll be waiting for your answer before trying my luck with XEdit. Thank you so much.

The lovely Camilla Valerius disappears in the scene where she says she would walk the Dragonborn to the edge of the town to point out where Bleakfalls Barrow is. Basically she exits Riverwood Trader and disappears. How would I tackle this issue? (Note, i'm able to find where she teleports to. She pops up in Bleakwind Basin, a camp occupied by Giants just northwest of Whiterun.) In XEDIT, I don't see any NPC type issues for her entry "0001347B", but maybe it's a in category for scenes or quests?

Learned how to open fo4edit, but thats about it. I dont understand how you can tell the difference between a normal conflict that means your mod is working and a conflict thats causing ctds. Did i miss something in your tutorial?

@klubstompers

@@PetrHipik Yea, she never even said how to tell what files are conflicting with each other. I suggest you install xeditquickautoclean inside of your mod manager. When you download xedit from the nexus, you get xedit and the quick auto clean exe's. After you install quick auto clean in your mod manager, just run it in your mod manager. Id also install loot in your mod manager, and run that, it will show you what mods are are dirty or conflicting, and what those problems are, as well as a guide on how to fix these with xedit, if quick auto clean doesnt fix them. You can also auto sort your load order in Loot, so you minimize load order issues.

@@klubstompers And thats the problem, Loot not show me where is problem, everything looks ok. But with xeditquickautoclean, its ok to clean everything? Thanks for reply
@klubstompers
2 жыл бұрын
@@PetrHipik Yes, but you can only clean one mod at a time. After you clean a mod, hit the legend button, and you'll get an idea of what is overwriting what, and understand what the different colors mean. Id try running the game from the launcher and not your script extender to find out if its mods messing up or the actual game its self. If your CTD on interior cells, it could be a lighting mod, or something that changes the interior, so you could turn off a mod, load game, and see if it crashes, and keep deactivating mods till you figure out which one is the culprit. Id start with the latest mods you installed, and start working back.

@@klubstompers OK, I just turned off all the mods one by one, and so far it looks like the winner is: virtual chems. In interior, game crashes every 5-10min, without virtual chems I played half an hour without crash. But ... man ... virtual chems? Like really? What the hell has anything to do with the interior that causes the game to crash? The game never crash if i go through wasteland. On the one hand, if it's really this mod, I'm glad I figured it out. On the other hand, it annoys me because I enjoyed playing with it...

Seriously how is MO2 worlds better than Vortex? You can literally edit conflicting mods in vortex without any other programs needed. Just create load rules and Vortex will follow those rules to load your mods in a certain way. It even automatically points out mod conflicts and immediately asks you to create load rules so the conflicting mods can run together without issues. Just a minute into the actual tutorial and I’m already lost. I’m probably just gonna stick with Vortex even though I hate that it constantly clutters up my SSE data folder with mod data. That is probably the only advantage MO2 has over Vortex. It creates its own staging folder and has Skyrim or any game for that matter reference the staging folder to run the mods you installed
