This is great info Kirby, especially Mr. Tok's smart suggestion of starting simple with whomever you go for in bespoke and the emphasis on practicality. So much of what passes for bespoke "advice" is just salesmanship and dream weaving, leaving aside the reality that it's a journey and the man hazards of the path.Thank you!

Wish I had the money for commissioning bespoke suits, but unfortunately here in Italy it's a thing only very rich people can afford.

Cary Grant in the 1940s said he would purchase one suit at $1000 over 10 at $100. And that was when $100 was a ton of money and you were lucky enough to eat. It takes discipline and the fallout is that you start to think better of yourself and others see you differently. We all tend to value what we pay more for and that value system, although initially intimidating, sows a vibrant seed.

@@lulolee5325 Most bespoke suits will be in the mid thousands, however sometimes a family-runned tailor will make them in the low thousands.

I admire that he doesn't mind wearing a shallow gorge double-breasted despite his height. There's still a well-structured distinctiveness there.

Thanks Kirby, very interesting gentleman. i enjoyed hearing what he had to say about suit tailoring. I am looking for a good tailor in Texas, to start with i need a couple of blazers/sports coats then a suit. i am going this route because they can fit me with something for our climate as you did mention which I am glad you and Mr. Tok did discuss.

Hey Kirby! You're obviously a guy with experience of treating leather shoes, so I'd just want to ask you for some advice on how to take care of a pair of patent leather brogues I picked up from my local thrift store. They looked perfectly fine to me until I slipped my foot in them and they immediately started cracking. I still bought them anyway as they were Italian made and were incredibly cheap. I'm just worried about damaging those beauties even more since its leather is really dry and stiff and probably a decade old or more. Do you have any tips on what I can do to wear the shoes without damaging them?

Kirby! Please do a video on collar bars...that is should you feel collar bars are proper for dressing well.

Hi Mr Allison :) Quick question from someone who has been gradually developing more of an interest in shoes since watching your channel. I've always had £40-80 shoes, typically with brogue-ing on them. I'm starting in the big scary world of work in a month and would love to hear your opinion on what would be a reasonable price bracket or brand to use to go a step up in footwear? I really do like the idea of a shoe that is better quality, but also lasts. Thanks for any help you can give!

which tailor houses in HK would Mr Tok recommend? Perhaps Prologue and Anthology (formerly suitaccess)?
