Sorry about that! I mean a third or maximum half of the blade width. Cutting thicker may damage the tool.

@samimurtomaki5534 it also depends on the plant. For example olive wood is much harder than pine. Also deadwood is much harder that live wood.

I sure wish Bonsai tool manufacturers would be more liberal with steel composition and heat treat. They could use a lesson from the knife world. My dream set would be A2 steel taken to 58 HRC ot CPM-3V.

@@TerryErasmusbonsai Me, too. Texas might be in your blood. The moon shines bright, deep in the heart of Texas. The rain in Spain is nice when mainly falling on the plain, I think.
