Thanks for the comparison. I own the Nathan VaporAir v1 that was designed by icon ultra runner Rob Krar. The women's version is the VaporAiress. Lightest, most features and storage, and best adjustable fit of any pack on the market. I use a 2 L bladder and 2 x 600 ml softflasks. Plenty of room for phone, poles, jacket, fuel / food, GoPro, etc. Total storage is 7 L.

Nice!!! I'll have to check it out. Is this the one you use for your ultras?

@@IRunThings Yes, I bought the pack in 2019, and it's accompanied me on 6 completed ultras and 3 DNF's, so its battle tested lol.

Great comparison! I have a Nathan that’s similar to your Camelback & love it 😍

Oh, did I hear you say “you’re doing an ultra” AWESOME!!! I will start running with my hydration vest for my next long run, long run to me (8) miles… I went through all my water flask and some on today’s run… ❤❤❤

Great comparison, Suzie! I also have two packs, a Camelbak and one Amazon mystery brand that seems a lot like a Nathan. To be honest, I might just not be a hydration pack guy because I've never taken to either of them.😁In the case of the Camelbak, yes that thick foam pad might have been meant to insulate the fluid bladder but it seems to insulate the wearer more. I hope that one or the other serves you well for your upcoming training!

I take to the one I bought that's cheaper more than the other. It's lighter, and the flasks in the front just work better on my mind. I have used it a lot... I think I will need a different one for the ultra though. It's not big enough

I have a waist hydration belt that holds 16 oz, but i sweat a lot... A LOT... And drink a lot when I run. Right now i just run by my car again and fill up my water bottle but id like to not do that. I really nees to pick out a vest. Thanks for explaining some pros and cons

I think the morale of the story is more expensive is not better. Let me know what you pick !
