My 23 yr old son was hit head on by a wrong way driver on the interstate. Among other injuries he broke his left Femur in ten places. We are at the point now where he can put some weight and will be using a cane in the near future. I have been reading reviews on all the most advertised canes. Not real thrilled about some of the reviews so when I came across your video I was relieved to get your advice as you are both professionals in your field and have no reason to make recommendations that are not real and honest. Thank you guys I really like all of your videos

Great video. I have a degree in OT and many patients ask about what you just covered. Do you have a video about walkers, 4-wheeled walkers, FWW etc ? I know I have patients confused on this equipment too and I witness quite often people using the wrong one. Thanks for all the info and videos.

I have used a cane for several years and I have tried different kinds. The best thing I have found is a Hugo. I got several Hugo bases and swapped them out on my single point canes. Hugo does make their own cane as well. The Hugo stands up by itself on any surface. If it falls over you can step on it and it will stand up again. You don't have to bend over to pick it up. The base is rubber. Very stable and won't slip on wet floors. Also it is good for outdoor use and the base is small enough you won't trip over it. I tried a Hurricane but the base moves and it isn't very stable. I didn't like it. I have nerve damage and drop foot in my right leg and drop foot and a non functioning tendon in my left foot. I wear leg braces. My advice...get a Hugo base to put on all your canes. Then you can get the style of cane you like. If you gentlemen get a chance to order a Hugo cane or base I would love to hear your opinions on it. I ordered from Amazon or the Hugo website.

Hi Bob and Brad. I feel the pistol grip cane provides more stability for me. I currently have the same pistol grip cane you have in the video. I have tried to find another cane like this for backup. All the usual sites and drugstores do not have this cane. Could you tell me where I can purchase the pistol grip cane that you have in this video? Thanks

I think the pistol grip handle is more stable because the handle is centered over the cane.
