I bought the GE7 literally the day it was released - and it's has stayed with me , on my main boards - sometimes just using it as a boost alone to test guitars or amps ......it just might be the most underrated stomp ever created , implemented and on so many musicians boards all these years !!!!.....great job as always my friend!!!...

EQ is a must-have utility pedal. Free The Tone EQ is my fav; pricy, and worth it. The 4 presets you can toggle via independent footswitch is a great way to expand single channel amps, your fav dirt pedal, add a boost, attenuate and shape hot signals for finicky mod pedals etc

This video was way more interesting than I would have thought. I just opened my box of pedals up and put an MXR 6 band EQ to make some subtle smiley face shapes. It made my strat sound way more jangly and brought out a lot of tasty harmonics.

Analog does it for me but that Source Audio EQ2 is really cool. I guess that and Boss EQ 200 are better for those that really implement it in their sound. I usually use mine to boost bass and darken the sound of bright sounding pedals.

I do love me some Source Audio (and will probably get an EQ2 one day) but it's so nice to have the faders of a BOSS or MXR pedal.

I have the original Source Audio EQ pedal. I use it in the effects loop of my Revv Dynamis to dial out the subtle tone suck that it has. Works great. I actually prefer the sound of the effects loop on with the EQ, vs the fx loop bypassed with no EQ. The Dynamis has a foots witch that allows me to turn the fx loop on/off for instant A/B comparison, so I know I’m not imagining it. I also like that it’s programmable so I’ll never lose my EQ curve that I spent a fair amount of time dialing in.

@@coreyclark6505 mine is the original which doesn’t have an app. Given my description above as to how I use it, it is an always on pedal for me. Definitely more of a “tool” then an”affect”. Highly rated for my purposes

My all-time favorite EQ pedal is still the Mesa 5-band. Say what you will, something about it is just perfect.
@Bognerman14

Because it's an actual amp EQ in a pedal. I'd love that one too if only it allowed for saving various EQ options. I need more than one option.

@@Bognerman14 Yeah, Mesa should get on making a digital version! But still simple and 5-band, digital only so you can store more and select them quickly. Or they could just expand the pedal and make it bigger so it's just like 3 of the EQ's. Which you could achieve by buying 3 of the pedals ha, but then you'd have to engage AND disengage every time you want to switch from one to another (instead of the act of engaging 1 automatically turning off the other) and it would hopefully save money to buy 3 in 1, so you wouldn't have to shell out $750 just to get 3 EQs

I have to give a shout to my Zoom MS70-CDR. This is a digital modeler in a pedal, with 6 "blocks", albeit geared to chorus/delay/reverb. I mention the Zoom MS70-CDR because it comes with 6 EQ models (4 mono and 2 stereo) for guitar, and another couple of EQ models for bass. Further, tone shaping NR and dynamics models are provided (such as the infamous BBE sonic maximizer and the APHEX xciter). I tend to run this pedal in the effects loop (of my Line6 modeler), with an EQ on the front block (of six blocks) with the last block being either the BBE or a final EQ before returning to the power/output section (usually in stereo). I balk at the price tag of some of the latest solo-EQ pedal product offerings (comparatively speaking).

I've tried a lot of EQ pedals over the years. Finally settled on the Wampler Andy mentioned briefly. It's a set it and forget it. I'm playing thru a Fender Champion 600. Just dialed it in. Done.

I use Ground Control Noodles in front of my drive pedals and a GE-7B post-drive. I have a Source Audio EQ2 as well, but use it on synths bc stereo in/out. I did have the EQ2 on my guitar setup for a minute with channel 1 pre-drive and channel 2 post drive, but didn't like fiddling with the knobs so much. It was cool as a tuner/mute though. If I had to have just one, I'd keep Noodles. Enjoyed the demo of th Fairfield Circuitry Long Life the most, adds great color.
