Subbed. Very informative channel. I’ve finally became frustrated enough with my entry level boat. I’m wanting a pedal boat with plenty of storage and comfort for all day fishing. I’m primarily a bass fisherman. Hobie used to be the Cadillac and that was it from my research a few years ago. Apparently now that’s not the case. I’ve always wanted a PA12, but it seems like there’s more affordable options that would offer the same amenities as the Hobie. The vast majority of my fishing will be on 15+ acre to mid size lakes.

As with my first kayak, I just purchased another without even seeing it in person, let alone water testing it. I utilized several sources (you included) and spoke with someone who has the same. Fingers crossed. Lol.

You know what you need out of your kayak though. That's a huge step

Great message for newer kayakers.. anyone who got into this hobby has made some of the mistakes you talked about in the video.. One major item that wasn't discussed in this video is "how will you be transporting the kayak?". Truck bed, trailer, Jracks on the roof of your car.. Most angler kayaks are quite heavy these days, so you've got to be mindful of weight and your physical abilities with getting that boat to the water. Thanks for the video.

Always good video content. Trying to move on from a Lifetime Tamarack Pro paddle kayak. I need a rooftop pedal kayak. I'm going to go to a Native Slayer propel 10 this fall. Although I'm ruling out a Hobie Lynx. Most of the time I'm lake fishing. I would have to finance. Wendell has a used Native Slayer 10 but not up for sale yet. Needs.....a kayak that can catch fish lol😂. But probably my biggest 5lb bass on a frog was in a cheap used Lifetime Cruz 10ft sit in rec kayak that I still have lol

The propel 10 is great. Don't forget about the Hobie Passport 12R. It's right around 2k and light as a feather. They do also sell it in a 10.5 but for fishing you may prefer a 12 Can't go wrong with either, but they are completely different layouts. The Propel will have a bit more fishing features and a better seat in my opinion

@@thebeardedpaddler Yup. The Tamarack pro is 57lb and has a cheap framed seat. I can be on the water for 9hr comfortable on the cheap seat, can't imagine a really good seat. The Native propel is 62lb so pretty similar in weight. The Passport 10R is 65lbs so still in range. Perception Crank 10ft I really like and cheaper but it's 87lbs so I would have to get a tow package and trailer with trailer prices is well overpriced now

Native and Old Town are both great for the money and reliable. The SlayerMax Propel is a good choice.

Ok. 6'-6" Tall, 250lbs, 75lb German Shepard. Floats down rivers. The current river, and Jacksforks river. I would be single with the dog most of the time, but there are times that I might have my wife with me when we leave the dogs at home. We just bought my wife the Bonified SKF117 for her and her dog, but I do not think that is what I want. I like the open floor models. Recreational for the most part. As far as gear, cooler and maybe a chair for land when we stop for lunch or something. Probably will rarely fish on this boat. I have been looking at the Jackson Yupic and the Jackson Take Two. Which would you pick for these needs?

Great videos! I'm looking for a boat that's good for fishing ponds and lakes with the occasional float down a river. I plan to use it for fishing and kayak camping. I have my eye on the Jackson Bite Angler. Are there any other kayaks I should be considering. It would be cool if it's a boat I could add pedals to down the road but its not a must have.

Nucanoe U10 if its in the budget. I only say that because you can add a pedal propulsion system to it

Yes I believe so. The PWR129 is a more maneuverable kayak with foot steering and rudder included and is a great value. You also get a good amount more of weight capacity with it as well. Thanks for watching
