Absolutely amazing! I have been following Voxguru for over 2 years now. All learners of the theory and practice of classical (or semi classical Music) owe a huge debt of gratitude to Ms Pratibha Sarathy. I say that for the following reasons: 1. Her amazing depth and breadth of knowledge of the Indian classical music 2. Her mellifluous voice, and of course that of her 2 co-singers we see in the many youtube clips 3. The team of excellent teachers she has put together 4. Her ability to crisply explain the scientific underpinnings of classical music 5. Her powerful command of the language and vast vocabulary needed to clearly explain the fundamentals as well as advanced concepts of music. There are dozens of music teachers who have posted lessons (my thanks to them). In my opinion, no one else even comes close to the clarity and depth of explanation that Ms Sarathy provides through her video lessons. 6. Her excellent use of the technology and computer graphics to explain complex concepts which reinforces and accelerates learning 7. He willingness and eagerness to share her vast knowledge of music freely and put it in the public domain to anyone who wants to listen and learn. I wish her decades more of successful singing and teaching career!

Remembering the absolute sound of a particular pitch is called having ‘perfect pitch’ which is a rare skill. Usually the skill we can more easily aspire for is to identify and place notes relative to a particular reference.

Well, all your videos are best in terms of smooth explanation, for this particular video, if you were chosen the any Hindi song also, then it will be helpful for the people like us who like Tamil, but don't understand it thoroughly since it is not our mother tongue.So it is getting little bit difficult to match that interactiveness.For instance, from my point of view, if you were chosen Jiya Jale from Dil Se, that will be also helpful.Anyways, overall video and all other videos are at their best.You are really an epitome of how to be a good teacher for the music lovers.Kudos to you and your team!Thnx Pratibha Ma'am.

No problem, as long as you are able to cover 2 octaves and bring out a mix of low and high frequencies in your voice, any scale is fine.

@VoxGuru

You mean you have almost a 3 octave range? That’s great and yes it is balanced for general practice. Since you have such a good range, depending on the song you can choose to increase or decrease the scale based on the feel and frequency mix of the tune.

Iam practicing in g, but most of the songs are c or d.if we select periyone rahmane sruthi is d, its very difficult to sing unless i practice in d. What should i do for overcome this problem. If i reduce the pitch the quality of song would weird
@VoxGuru
3 ай бұрын
I usually reduce the pitch of a song if it is not within my vocal range. If you sing with karaoke that may be difficult to do as the quality of the karaoke will decline. I don’t usually sing with karaoke but more with tanpura or any live accompaniment where I can choose my preferred pitch.
