One important thing I'd add is to notice how your finger isn't always over the face buttons--it hangs out around the R1 button when it isn't needed. I think this might be a factor in playing claw without discomfort. When I was learning claw a year ago, my wrist was getting sore because I was holding my hand rigidly in the claw position even when my index finger didn't have anything to do. Once I learned to loosen it up a little, it felt fine and made me a better player.

TV, just a comment but I think this would be easier to follow if you flipped your "livecam" around/upside down as it was a bit unnatural trying to follow your controller motions with what's happening on screen when we're looking from that perspective.

I've started clawing ever since Year 1 Destiny. doesn't sound like a long time but i've adjusted. I've been doing this, but slightly different. I use my pointer finger on the triggers, but when I want to press a button, I move my pointer finger to that button and replace the trigger finger with my middle finger and switch back when needed. Works just as well, but I do put something over the last digit of my finger just to keep it from being uncomfortable.

I realize that TV won't do this after being so comfortable with clawing but for everyone else on ps4, if you want to be able to jump and slide while still aiming, you can switch button layout to puppeteer (switches crouch/slide to right stick) and in console settings put the button assignments so that L1 and X are swapped (you jump with L1 and throw grenades with X)
@UndergroundGamer

have you tried I believe it's called puppeteer in destiny button controls. it swaps circle with your right stick click so you can slide and shade step or garrison. I find that it can be a very clutch reaction to be able to instinctively shade step back by tapping the stick twice even a couple times doing it accidentally and it saves my life. it basically would just make it one less button to claw

I tried playing Claw for a couple of months and I just felt like my overall accuracy suffered too much for me to consider it a viable technique for me. I was having a lot of trouble sniping and generally tracking targets. I think it's cause of the way your thumb sits (on an Xbox One controller at least) when clawing. It's at a different angle which throws off my aim.

My friend gave me the best idea the other day on his layout. I've tried bumper jumper, default, and now currently puppeteer and it seemed most were lacking in some area until now. Basically my layout uses both jumper and puppeteer. So how do you do it? Simple, set your in game layout as puppeteer, and then in your PS settings menu, go to controller layout, and swap the L1 button with X, congratulations you now have one of the best layout for destiny and most games. The upside? You can now... - Aim while jumping. - Aim while sliding. - Jump into slide whilst still able to aim, great mobility/awareness. You can basically get around insanely well without loosing much if any accuracy on your aiming. The only downside however is you cannot use stick grenades, as you're unable to aim while chucking a nade, if you're into that sorta shenanigan. It's gonna take a good while to get used to, took me 2 days but after that, well worth it.
