Here’s the best way to clean a rifle thoroughly but without spending more time and effort than necessary. To make the process even faster, invest in two or three good one-piece carbon fiber cleaning rods. Put a jag on one, a copper brush on another, and, if you have a third rod, a bore mop. In order to remove heavy copper fouling, you need to use a dedicated copper solvent that you let sit in the barrel for an extended period of time, applying it repeatedly until the copper is removed. The procedure in this video is for normal cleaning after a range session or hunt. The rifle featured in this demonstration is the Remington 700 Long Range in 7mm Rem. Mag.
