Unfortunately, this video is factually not quite correct. You can clearly see in the white microfiber „scrubber“ that there are brown as well as black particles. Those black particles are NOT dirt, they are leather dye (pigment). This means that the top coat of this leather steering wheel is at the very least damaged if not completely removed. This explains why the leather is a) shiny and b) sticky. Proof for my statement: AFTER the wheel has allegedly been cleaned, there‘s still black stuff coming off the wheel in the beige microfiber towel. I bet you any money that no matter how often you clean this wheel, there‘ll always be black stuff in that white scrubber. If that‘s the case, then this is proof if what I just said.

Andreas, your negative comments follow us around everywhere yet you still continue to watch, so thank you! We know you like to have your opinion but your comment is factually incorrect, which I know you don’t like to be told. The steering wheel was still wet with product which was still picking up dirt. Once we re-cleaned the entire interior off camera, every single interior towel was spotless. No dye was compromised at all. Sticky and shiny steering wheels does not always mean the top layer is compromised either, especially in this example of a very uncared for old dirty car. Thanks again for watching!

@@YumCars I‘m looking forward to a video in which you clean that steering wheel again, showing that the white scrubber stays clean after the first round of cleaning 👍

@@YumCars nothing to do with negativity. If you make and offer products I like and can wholeheartedly recommend, then I‘ll do that. If I don‘t, I explain why based on a comprehensive reasoning for it. And you know that I used a tested a fair share of them based on what I ordered from you. 😉

Yes and your only come back is the price, if a £12 shampoo or a £13 detail spray is grossly over priced for you then you sadly do not know what expensive means in this world. We strangely remind you of CG in your words, who have 9 products in each and every category and you can clearly see just how many products we have per task ( 1 ) that in my eyes is pure negativity when you falsely state wrong opinions. This channel is here for people to be helped and who want learn so take your negativity and false narrative to a detailing forum elsewhere.

The exfoliating on that mitt is incredible!!! Even when you think you’ve lifted most of the dirt and grime with a wipe over… you are wrong until you use that mitt haha

I suspect that the "dirt" on the exfoliating mitt is actually some of the leather pigmentation. This has likely deteriorated owing to the oils and sweat (salts) not having been regularly removed from the leather.

True in both senses. We would say it’s a 90/10 split for that answer

Amazingly enough, in the same minute as when this video came out, our friend Jon's well-established channel, Forensic Details, brought out a new video, also about re-conditioning steering wheels. Very interesting comparison.

That steering wheel looked like it was found in one of our local buses.
