when cleaning ours we use leftover pickle juice. it stinks a little during the process but it will quickly turn that grill to like new condition.

Look out for the vinegar Vapor’s and check your grease trap level before pouring too much water into it. Don’t want to overflow that. Trust me.

Pouring water on a very hot metal surface is a good way to warp it and damage the structure of the steel.

I'm very much against pouring water on a hot grill. It can warp it and cause the welds to crack.

Isn't that hazardous to inhale the vinegar as it's poured ?

Is it really needed to season the griddle? Badly needed help & ryt answer

This will take all your seasoning off! Best thing you can do is keep cooking on it and clean it with a scraper to knock off the big stuff and use water and paper towls. Oil it back up and your ready to go. All that black stuff they are cleaning away is all the seasoning! Which means they need to start over seasoning. That black is what you want!

This is cleaning away all the seasoning on this grill! The title of the video should be how to start reasoning your flattop. Not cleaning! All that black carbon you are cleaning off is what the grill needs to be nonstick and actually good for us! To every one that watched this video know the is so wrong to do to your grittle! You want that layer of black on top! That is your seasoning! Makes stuff not stick, and meat and vegetables will slide as you mix them while cooking. Im old Alabama southern boy that grew up on cast iron skillets and how to cure them! To me this is wrong in so many ways!

Absolutely right…if this was cast iron. It’s stainless steel which needs to shine like brand new after cleaning.
