Note: If you're doing a clean install and you don't have an Ethernet port, you'll need a lot more information regarding your wifi drivers. Your drivers must be available on your clean install source, and you'll have to install them via command prompt. If you have a wifi adapter, use that to connect to your wifi. You can't do much beyond installing windows, without an internet source. Thank you very much for the video!

I took Kevin's advice and performed a clean install of Windows 11. Wow! What a difference. Previously I performed an upgrade to Windows 11 from within Windows 10, and it was not an enjoyable experience. My CPU used to run at 100% all the time, disk drives were constantly working, Netflix app crashed twice, even after reinstalling it. With the clean install of Windows 11, all that went away. Windows 11 is actually a great experience for me now, and the cherry on top is that Edge 95 has the same menus as Windows 11, which makes the experience even better. I'm sold on Windows 11 now, thanks Kevin!

Heads up for anyone doing this in June 2023 onwards. You no longer need to download the setup onto a USB stick; instead, everything is created on a file which is then executed from your homepage. Also, creating the installation media is different (and more annoying) than presented in this video, so be ready for that as well. Otherwise, great video! Really helpful in getting rid of the obnoxious HP bloatware off my laptop.

I'm pretty computer-literate, but my experience was anything but simple. When running the Windows installation media from my flash drive, it paused a few steps into the process because it needed a driver. I googled that issue and eventually found a solution on HP's website. But HP's instructions for downloading the driver were inaccurate (of course). So I spent lots of time figuring out a workaround. Finally I was able to put the drivers onto the flash drive (along with the Windows 11 installation media) only for the process to run into yet another snap when it said it couldn't install on my hard drive. Again, google to the rescue and I ended up having to delete the partitions during the install process. After that, smooth sailing. I don't know about you, but my experience is things are typically never as simple as KZitem how-to videos make them out to be.

Thanks Kevin. I followed your clear instructions and installed a clean copy of Windows 11 on my Lenovo laptop which initially had Windows 10. The only issue I had was how to get the computer to boot from the USB stick on which I had the installation media. The Esc or F2 key was giving me a strange menu from which I couldn't get to change my boot option. I escaped out of it and saw instructions on the Lenovo site. You have to press the Windows start button and select the power icon, when you get the options to shut down or restart, first press and hold the shift key down on the keyboard and then select "restart". Now you get an option of where to boot from when you restart. This worked and I'm not running Windows 11.

If you want to wipe everything, you should be able to do so. Most, if not all OEM computers have a recovery partition you can use to factory reset the computer. Most of the time, you have to press a certain key or keys to access this partition as soon as you turn on your computer. You should be able to find this information on the manual or on the manufacture's page. Again, this will erase everything: any programs you installed, any documents and files you have, etc. It will be reset to the way it was when you turned it on for the first time.
@CK.2x6.06

@@JJFlores197 Thank you for responding. Since the new computer was synced with my work computer with all its documents, videos, photos, files, etc., will doing a factory reset on new computer destroy or delete the files on my work computer at the same time since it’s synced? That’s my biggest fear as I can’t lose anything on the work computer. I can’t find any info on this and everywhere I search it’s only discussing Windows 11 issues and that’s not the problem. Thank you.
@JJFlores197

@@CK.2x6.06 No. A factory reset won't affect the work data that is stored on the cloud or other work computer. It will simply erase everything off of your personal computer. Kevin. Thanks for another helpful video. There is one caveat regarding finding your Windows product key using the Command you provided. This command only returns the computer's Original product key. If you have upgraded Windows to another version - Home to Pro - it will only give the key for the Home version of Windows. For example, my laptop came with Windows 10 Home. I later upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. Running the listed command only returns my original Windows 10 Home key. I use Belarc Advisor to get the necessary information (along with a huge amount of other system info). It provides the key(s) for every version of Windows that has been installed on the computer.

You can try to save as many backups on HDDs or USB drives of large capacity. At the end of the day, doin a re-image of a PC is a bitch. It’s going to take time an effort but the payoff is a faster computer and a clean slate to start from

Nice concise video, but I get to the step at 4:30 and I have no drives listed at all. Asus laptop I bought March 2021. Ugh!

Hi Kevin, love the channel. When I try to get my Product Key i just get 3 blank lines below OA3xOriginalProductKey. What is happening? Can you also do a video on moving to the Official version from the Insider version of Windows 11 without loss.Cheers

Yeah, me, too--and Kevin as well! A proper windows product key would be, like, five sets of five hex characters, if I remember correctly. Why did Kevin get the same as us?!

Something bad happened. After Installation the Internet drivers weren't there, I skipped the pick a WiFi Section by using the terminal because there was no option to pick any. After Installation I still couldn't pick a WiFi and the WiFi options didn't even show up. After checking device manager, there was no Wireless WiFi driver even in show hidden. There were yellow warnings in multiple PCI drivers and Network controller. How do I fix this?

Hello Kevin, I bought an Asus PC that comes with windows 10, but I upgraded to windows 11 and I joined the insider preview (dev channel) after that. Now, there is a lot of bugs and a numeric pad in the touchpad isn't working anymore, the caps lock light not working. I just wanna know what should I do to get rid of all that and get back my windows 10 or a stable windows 11, I liked windows 11 but not the preview version, should I follow the video steps? Thanks!

Kevin, if you do a clean install of Windows 11 can you use a system image from Windows 10 to go back to Windows 10 if you don’t like 11? I know if you you do an upgrade you have 10 days where you can go back. Thanks for the very helpful videos!

Hello Kevin, I had problems upgrading my computer which is our HP 14 inch. My question is why do you need a flash drive copy with the cloud download. Doesn't that wipe everything. Hope to hear from you about this. Maybe even a short video about this may help a lot of people. Thanks again Michelle
