Just the fact that I was thanked for my business is appreciated. So many employees act as though customers are just a bother.

FYI, some of them have a screwed-in drain cover on the back. Like, with a screw. This video shows him unscrewing the whole cap, as if it's threaded; well, mine has a cover that was screwed on with a screw (which I didn't notice because it was screwed on, on the BOTTOM, so unless I was lying flat on the floor looking up, I wouldn't have seen it). And when I tried to unscrew the whole cover it wouldn't come (of course, because it was screwed on with an actual screw that I couldn't see!) so I used pliers and broke the valve cover. Drained the unit, plugged the drain with the little blue silicon plug, but then had to duct-tape the drain cover back on because I'd broken it trying to unscrew the whole thing like this dude does. I know, I know, I could have avoided the whole problem by lying on the floor and looking up at it. Well, I didn't. So if you're trying to unscrew the whole drain cap and it doesn't come easily, make sure that you DO lie on the floor and look up at it, and see if it's screwed on there with a screw.

Will it be okay to use vinegar instead of bleach? How often should it be cleaned and does it need to be cleaned before first use?

I always enjoy watch a normal Primo member. It was very easy. There are so many people who try to do their own video. But I always trust a member of the item I'm working on

Baffle is hard to pull off but it does come off. I put my thumb in the hole and pinched with my index finger and pulled straight up. I have model no. 900127

Be careful regarding the Baffle. My unit doesn't seem to have a removable Baffle. I tried pulling it off and stopped when I could hear something begin to crack. The Baffle should not be so secure that it requires excessive force to remove. If a normal tug doesn't remove it, do not force it and just let it sit in the bleach/water (I suggest white vinegar)

Mine was so hard to remove I used plyers to get it free. I thought the same thing. But it turned out to be just a small plastic baffle I cleaned up with warm water

If it cracked visibly then that’s the matter but if it cracked with no cracks on it that’s probably because u never took that part off before even after buying the unit

Yes regular cleaning every 6 months or so. Not just when there are issues. Don't to clean the actual water bottle
@Balisades

Manual says every 3 months to rinse the water reservoir to get rid of mineral build up. Id suggest using white vinegar instead of bleach though. I wouldn't want any traces of bleach to chance being left in my water for consumption ☠

It's carefully couched ("how to clean MY dispenser") and not an official looking branded video for the same reason there's no cleaning instructions in the users manual - Primo doesn't want to get sued if someone catches e. cool-i or cooler-onavirus or some other bacterial or viral trouble. Not that Primo isnt a good product, but all water coolers are subject to not being cleaned frequently enough. Think of the coolers at some job sites/offices that only get jugs added and nothing else.

Not necessarily. If it still tastes bad after cleaning your machine, it could be the water you're using
@hexane8

It should be cleaned regularly to not get gross... Or your tap water is naturally gross but you would already know that flavor.. Just in case anyone didn't catch this anywhere, its purely a cooler and not a purifier at all. If anything it makes your water less pure because it's another place to add organisms. That being said I get refills from those 25c/gallon machines and it's been wonderful for years with a little regular cleaning.

Are you sure you work for Primo?!? Because I am having the same issues that several other commenters have....the SCREWED ON drain cover, which I actually cut my finger trying to just pull off, as stated in the video, but the baffle. Yeah, mine pulled right out, but how the HECK DOES IT GO BACK IN PROPERLY?! And trying to call Primo....fuhgetaboutit! You have to jump through hoops just to be abandoned on hold. Thanks for wasting half my day!

Haven't y'all ever moved a couch or something that you kind of have to angle to get it through an opening! Just kinda lay it at it side and turn it and try turn it and try til it comes out.
