Great ideas BTW. And digging the stealth trailer! Also, do you recommend drying the dog off? Our pup loves to hop in the pool and do a couple of laps any old time he pleases. He has gotten quite irritated skin, scratching a lot. Thoughts? Could it be the chlorine? Thanks.

A comment I would appreciate feedback on: So many trainers out there are talking about establishing dominance or getting your dog to "respect" you. After quite a bit of reading and a lot of watching videos, it seems Stonnie's approach accomplishes this without a lot of odd "rules" or practices: The one with the access to the treats, the leash, and the environment is in charge and it seems like you don't need to be the first one through the door or make the dog not lie on the couch or have the dog eat last. Good things will happen for the dog if he or she goes with the flow. Does that make sense?

Great tips as always, Stonnie! Shelby has been loving being home and has been Double AA-wesome! The journey of our family wanting a dog of our own began when we met the most polite Akita type dog and then we decided on a Mal named Shelby and the knowledge given to us from you. After leave you guys last Friday, I had a complete stranger compliment me on how "polite" Shelby was. I was over the moon!

Ticks?? I haven't gone through all your videos, so if it's out there already I apologise for missing it. With the outdoor adventures in the brush how to you deal with ticks? I would think your dog would always end up with at least one on them. How do you look and what do you use to remove them? Thanks.

@@StonnieDennis I have a friend that's a dog breeder who alerted me. There are some scary stories of rapid deaths after exposure. My state of KS posts warnings from the Dept of Health regarding certain of our lakes. My Lab's would always play in every pond and puddle, and I never worried about it I've never had close experience with it. If my dogs played in dank, bright green water, I'd worry about blue-green algae poisoning.
