This is really good stuff. I do all kinds of painting, on wood not just acrylic pours but with brushes. Whether I am using a canvas, wood or whatever, I use this stuff. I even refinished our crappy living room side tables using a crackling medium and then finished it up by sealing it in with a couple coats of this stuff. Those tables are still just as I made them 20 years ago. Cannot believe after several moves, spilled coffee, etc they look like I just finished them. Cannot recommend it enough.

Thank you so much for watching & for your great question! If you have a very well fitting glove, you could potentially spread some of the polycrylic with your finger(s), but I have found that I don't get a smooth, even consistency and while the polycylic is generally self-leveling, spreading it with a glove doesn't always give consistant results. @SandiPaintsHerrera
5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Donna! I am so sorry that happened to you. The reason why it cracked is because the amount of polycrylic needed to coat by tilting is too thick. Once this is completely dry, (I'd give it a few days), then you may be able to slowly layer in polycrylic into the cracks with a small brush, allowing to dry between each layer. I must stress that I have not tried this, but it is what I can think of at the moment. I can imagine how frustrating this must be & I hope that it turns out for the best! I'd love to know how it goes. You can send me a facebook messenger request if you have it, by searching for Sandi Paints Herrera on facebook.

Thank you so much for watching Reborn Snuzzles! This is a great question! From my experience, polycrylic is thick enough that the amount needed to tilt is too thick & cracked as it dried. I ended up ruining my piece. I have learned that multiple thin layers, allowed to dry between coats works best. @SandiPaintsHerrera
5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Cfitzy33 fitz! I'm sorry to hear that your minwax cracked. I'm not sure what created the perfect storm to cause this on your piece specifically, but there are some things that could cause this. One would be if your paint was not fully dried before applying the polycrylic. Others could be that the polycrylic dried too quickly (this can cause your paint to crack too), the polycrylic didn't dry completely before another coat was applied, or each coat of polycrylic was too thick. I hope these tips help & that you'll have better success on your next attempt!

Gayla Roof - I'm sorry to hear you had a rough day. I hope it improves. I don't have a stencil, I get the colors to come up the sides by tilting after pouring. Here is the video of this trays creation: kzitem.info/news/bejne/mJh4l66ZqnyrhKA I just cleaned & sealed the inside of this tray because I haven't finished painting the outside & bottom yet. (I haven't decided what I want to do yet. 😂) Once I do actually paint the outside & bottom, I'll allow them to dry and cure, then I'll repeat the same steps I just did here to clean and seal, but will likely use masking tape along the inside edges, before I do. Oh wow! I think you were very fortunate it didn't warp! 😯

Gayla Roof - That's awesome! I picked up more trays and a little box with a drawer in it today too! I can't wait to see what you create!
