I would have thought that isopropyl alcohol would be the better medium to clean the motors due to any residue evaporating especially in the windings, as there would be a risk of small amounts of water sitting in the windings and possibly migrating to the electrical contacts etc

Agreed, I have had good results using Electrical Contact Cleaner. I do not film the entire drying process using the hair dryer because it takes 5-7 minutes and the hair dryer is noisy. Thanks for visiting Graham!

Hi, greetings from the Netherlands!!! Your videoa are a great resources. I recently bought a Singer 99k31 where somebody before me mounted the motor of a Singer 306m that is pretty much unknown by me. Naturally the motor needs a really good cleaning and i didn't know where to start. So thanks a lot for sharing!

Well I do have to drive soon ... like within the hour! Not to an early grave though (crosses fingers)! I'm moving some sewing machines out because I'm moving at the end of the month! What about that dog Terri Gelbaum? Do you have some good dog tales! I think I'm bloody hilarious; don't I Terri? I do! Yikes! Tell me about that dog!

@@JebbAdams Are you kidding, you're adorable. Your vids are really helpful. You're a good teacher. As for as my Libby is concerned, she a 9yr. old mini English bull terrier, whom I love more than any one or anything. She funny ,smart, and an excellent ratter, though I have a problem with her bringing them in the house. After that I collect vintage sewing machines. That's how I found you.

@@terrigelbaum8066 Good morning Terri Gelbaum! Thank you for kindness and your charm! So sweet! We had a Boston Bull Terrier as a kid! That is so good to know that you collect machines! The nice thing about lots of machines is that there are lots of favourites! You must have a Singer 306 perhaps? They are great machines. Lol! Peace Terri, and Libby! Lol!

I'm SO surprise that you washed the inner motorparts with water. I always thought water and electronische are a big No-no. .. In the beginning of the video you were working on the 'plug-in part' and than it jumped to the pullywheel and than al of a sudden you got the inner shaft bit out of the motor. I seemed to have missed out some important footage? Great video, as ever. Thank you for working on the difficult bits of the 306K really interesting.

Good morning Monique Willems! It is always a pleasure to hear from you! Thank you for the compliments! Your kindness is appreciated, Monique! No, my friend, there is not lost footage! The video does not "flow" as smoothly as planned. There were multiple challenges to get this video produced; I will not go into detail! Lol! Just let me say this, Monique: I appreciate your patience, and all the viewers' patience, as I strive for better video production quality. Thanks again! Have fun with your 306K! Peace!
