The best thing you can do to clean this gun is convert to using 3M PPS paint cups, you just throw the cup liner away. Clean the stock cup takes a lot of solvent. You can also have a second cup to run the cleaning solvent through the gun for clean up.

After a lot of research and waiting for the turbine system I wanted to be back in stock, I finally got and used my Fuji Mini Mite 4 today. Awesome. Just Awesome. Very happy with it so far. I do need to do more practice. It’s a good thing I have 3 gallons of new paint ready to spray. Now all I need is the weather to be nice on the weekends and I’m good to go. #FujiSpray

Great! Practice will definitely be important. Also, it is very useful that you keep a small booklet so you can write down your mixing ratios when spraying regular projects or just experimenting, this will help you with consistency of your results. - Fuji Spray Team -

I’m a professional contractor and a regular user of my Fuji systems. I find the brass fittings on the pressure tube need to be cleaned out and or augured out ( oversized ) with a drill bit to improve airflow. This has served me very well and improved the performance of my guns substantially. I have also deleted the check valve .....just ensuring that my line is clean and often replace my line with extra surgical tubing. I have also drilled a larger vent hole in the plastic cap to ensure I get proper pressurization of my cup. The standard hole often gets clogged which results in poor pressurization.

I wish it were just that easy. I have had my guns for about 15 years and cleaning them has been a little more involved than that. But they are great guns for sure.

What type of cleaning solution do you recommend?
@FujiSpray
5 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what you have been spraying with; If you have been using latex or other water based materials (paints), then water will be the safest solution to use. If you have been spraying solvent-based materials, then solvent like lacquer thinner will be adequate. You may also want to take a look at the paint can label to see which type of solvent would be adequate for proper cleaning after use, or ask the person at the counter where you are buying the paint from. - Fuji Spray Team -

I tried using mine for the first time after a long winter of no use. It's pouring from the packing nut regardless of how little or how much I turn it. Do I likely need to replace the nut? The shaft?
@FujiSpray
3 жыл бұрын
You would want to turn the Packing Nut clockwise to reach a seal point. If it continues to leak from the area, the Needle Packing(s) may be damaged and will need to be replaced. Pease contact Fuji Spray Customer Care Team if you require further assistance at 1-800-650-0930 or email support@fujispray.com. - Fuji Spray Team -

When spraying water-based polyurethane is it necessary dump the cup and clean the gun between two hour drying times? I'm pretty sure that those of us with experience in spraying finishes would agree that HVLP guns require more maintenance. I never would leave a finish in a gun overnight. But most of the time when I was spraying with a higher pressure conventional gun, all I did was spray a series of two clean solvent batches through the gun, remove nozzle, place nozzle in cup with clean solvent, loosely attach cup, and I was ready to spray within a day or a month. All I had to do was attach nozzle components and spray solvent through before adding finish to cup. That said, I do love using this gun when I take the time to do a good cleaning. The limited amount of overspray and the saving of finish material is pretty phenomenal.

Leaving coatings in the spray gun for extended periods of time is not advisable. Some coatings dry out faster than others so you would want to be very mindful of how long the coating can remain inside the spray gun. Fuji Spray says this as common practice across the board. - Fuji Spray Team -

I just used my mini-mite 4 platinum for the first time, cleaning goes great until it gets to "use the supplied wrench to remove the fluid nozzle". It looks real easy in your video, but I can't budge it. I pulled up this video to make sure it was "lefty loosy". This is so frustrating!

What if I soaked my gun in solvent completely disassembled?
@FujiSpray

If completely disassembled will be no problem. Bare in mind that some very harsh solvents may dull the finish of the spray gun if left in the solvent for a very long time. - Fuji Spray Team -

What if I had to run and left the gun not cleaned. Is it trashed now? If not, what do I use to clean it?
@FujiSpray
4 жыл бұрын
Give it a thorough clean as soon as you have the chance to. It will be good practice to take the spray gun apart to ensure all of the components and fluid passages are free of residue and prevent any clogs. If the product you have sprayed is waterbourne, then clean the gun and parts with warm soapy water. If oil based or solvent based, use the appropriate solvent as indicated on the can of the material. If in doubt, contact the coatings manufacturer. Remember, soaking the entire gun in solvent or any harsh chemical is not advisable. - Fuji Spray Team -

Solvent meaning mineral spirits?
@FujiSpray
3 жыл бұрын
Appropriate solvent for the material you are using. In most cases, mineral spirits is the appropriate solvent for cleaning solvent-based coatings. We would recommend taking a look at the label on the can of the coating to find out what can be used for effective cleaning. -Fuji Spray Team-
