NOTE: This video is for all-metal models only.
It’s important to keep your watch free from as much of the dirt and debris it collects as possible. The acidity in your skin and everyday climate your luxury watch is exposed to can weaken the metal. Even lotion and hair products will build up over time.
Giving your Rolex this type of deep clean every few months is all you need and won’t take you more than a few minutes.
Transcript:
To clean your all-metal Rolex, you’ll need light dish soap, a soft cloth or sponge, and a few clean paper towels. A blowdryer and glass cleaner are not required but we recommend them for the finishing touches.
First, you'll want to make sure the winding crown is properly screwed in, protecting the movement and inside of the Oyster case from any moisture that would otherwise sneak in.
Then open up the clasp so that you can get into its crevices.
Run warm water; rinse your watch and dampen your cloth or sponge.
Dispense a small amount of soap onto your cloth and give it a quick rinse to avoid too many suds.
As you start to gently wash your watch, pay attention to the nooks and crannies: around the bezel, crown, and where the bracelet meets the case head, and throughout the clasp.
Don’t forget about the back of the case head and bracelet links.
A key to a deep cleaning is to get in between the links. Fold the bracelet to revel the inner sides. Gently scrub, and continue around the entire bracelet, rinsing as needed.
You’ll want to then give your Rolex one final rinse and pat dry with clean paper towels.
The best way to make sure your watch is dry and free of water spots is to use a blow dryer.
Spray a tiny amount of glass cleaner onto a clean, dry paper towel… gliding over the sapphire crystal for a little extra shine.
