If you know how to foot lock it's even less equipment but that's a lot harder, haha. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Its nice to know of another friction hitch that can be broken under tension. I'm a heavy weight (200+) and have generated a lot of heat on hitch cords in just short decents, and fully agree with the comments regarding the use of rappel devices. Thanks for demonstrating this technique.

I probably need to make a video on how to install a rappel device while on a hitch. It's fairly easy but you have to pay attention. I should also probably showcase some of the more popular hitches too. I show the VT because it's easy to tie and works well but there are some great hitches out there. Thanks for watching and commenting.

A longer lower hitch makes things way easier, coz you don't need to reach down constantly. Also, using a mechanical rope grab at the waist makes it much easier again. But there's a million ways to do it and its a horses for courses kind of deal.

Absolutely on all counts. What I am trying to show here is just a very basic way of climbing. I hope to show the little tips and tricks in the future as well as various devices that make this so much easier. But you have to start with the basics or you will never appreciate something like a Croll, haha. Thanks for watching and commenting.
