I got the Sabrent dock, and performed an offline clone to move my C drive from a 128GB SATA SSD to a 2TB NVME SSD. This worked like a charm. Thank you so much. I was lucky enough not to need a third party software to expand my partition. I was able to do it with Windows. But still, thanks for showing me how to do this. It saved me a lot of headaches.

Thank you so much for the review, sir. I have never been one to clone my OS, just a fresh install now and then. However, this is brilliant it has the M.2. I never knew how hot they can become. I just learned a great deal today. Again, thank you, sir. Things have come so far from the days I use to mess around on a C64.

Thank you! This info is what I was looking for. I'm about to purchase this Sabrent dock and wanted to make sure it does all I need to do. Clone the boot drive as well as access random discs I have around. Just bought a new PC and I always make a "clean" copy of the Windows drive as a back up. The one remaining question I have is can you boot (externally) from this dock? Mainly looking for a way to verify the clone without having to swap the drives internally.

always a pleasure my friend, but actually, if you run into issues with the program, if you prefer to use a program over the cloner, you can check out this video, might help: kzitem.info/news/bejne/wn6MqaGhpmhopG0 but the dock for sure is awesome. You know, I can't tell you for sure on that, I have not tried, but I dont think it will work. Not for a limitation on the dock but for a limitation on the way windows and the BIOS will handle that boot loader.

Great video.I'm going to clone my old small SSD for a newer one using your video as a guide. But I have a question. I've initialised my new SSD which involves giving it a new name i.e.H drive to make it visible in disc management. When I clone my C drive does it change the name on my new drive to a C drive or will I have to do that manually - thanks in advance for your help - Paul

Always a pleasure my friend, so very happy I could help you and thank you so much for your kind words and support, it means the world to me. The reason I made this video, aside from learning the additional steps was the converting portion. I had to convert some servers, and I needed info and when I found it, I decided to bring it to you in a more consumer level. I did this on an OS drive, like the servers, but on the servers it wasn't only OS drive, it was many additional drives, and then on top of that, to make it more complicated, I had to make sure the DATA stayed in tacked, years of data on there and yes, it worked fine. While it isn't needed, it is faster in GPT, so I recommend moving all of your drives to GPT if possible. You don't need to, but I recommend it.

I don't know if you still check comments for this video but when doing a clone it moves the whole drive to the new one but is it possible to just move primary partitions? I have a bunch of smaller drives I would like to coalesce into a larger one and I was wondering if it was possible to move entire partitions between drives
@ThisBytesForYou

It is, I mention that, but I also mention that I don't recommend it because those partitions are typically part of the main drive, a system partition, an MSR, a Windows partition, and a recovery tools partition.
