I like your video, everything correct but it is always a good idea when you put back the new oil 🛢 filter to add some oil to it ,that way the engine will not run dry for few seconds, just keep that in mind,it is a very important detail; take care, keep the good work ,Cheers!!

Good video mate. Just the recommended torque for a sump plug with an Aluminium crush washer is 30-34 Nm (22-25 ft-lb) and the oil added shouldn't be more than a half between the two marks in the stick; the oil level will rise as it settles after the engine if switched off.

I would have used 5w 30 in any climate. It is a thinner smooth flowing oil and it covers the whole usable range of temperatures except for the extremely cold areas like northern Scandinavia and Russia where temperature can be below -20 Deg C. There i would use 0w 20.

Really liked the video man(although I don't own a CX5). But by watching too much ChrisFix's videos😂 I'd suggest you tu put other stuff (like two tires under the car, and use the jack as a fail safe too), then give the car a good shake to see if it won't fall on you. Then don't put the Oil filter back dry....put some fresh oil on the inside then screw it it.

Good video but just cant get my head around why you didnt/wouldnt pre-fill the new oil filter ? Been doing this as a DIY mechanic since the 80's

I hate those sump plugs that use hex keys. The grip is terrible on those and there is a real danger of destroying the hole for the hex key if he's key is not inserted in a snug fashion. The only good thing is that those those plugs can not be over tightened.

10W30 oil never... It is a smooth running engine, this oil will only increase consumption. 0W-20 or 5W-30 A5/B5

No, thicker oil decreases consumption. And it's used with the turbo (5W-30). Same motor.

Just to let people know... On eBay, I just bought 4 genuine Mazda oil filters for $20.36 ($5.09 each), 20 new crush washers for a total of $7.57 (that's including .58 cents for tax), and 5 quarts of full synthetic Kirkland Signature oil for $23.19. So the first oil change for my 2021 Mazda CX-5 will cost me less than $30. Those are prices in the U.S., though.

Best to check with your vehicle's owners manual as the climate in France is quite different to the climate here in Australia. The engine oil spec. depends on the environment the vehicle will operate in.

Hey have you ever used 0w20 before ? I have used both. I was curious if you thought this engine sounds louder with 5w30? Not the valves clatter but like the exhaust. Or maybe it’s that the valves are quit so now I hear the exhaust more
