Hi all! Glad you are all enjoying the video! Just wanted to make a brief editing note; at around 16:39 I mention Haydn's use of an A#°7 chord. While this is somewhat true, if we inspect closer using Schenkerian implied harmonic analysis this can also very much be read as an E It6 Chord WITH some slight modification (it appears to be missing the VI necessary to establish that chord and it is replaced with a iii i.e. G natural, though with FURTHER analysis using set theory it is of the same functionality, but I seriously digress) Haydn does this later throughout the piece and I just wanted to float that alternative out there, as an It6 chord there would be much more of the expected spelling for the sound we are hearing (also Aug6 chords are go to tools in the toolbelt to transition between keys) Enjoy! and Subscribe: kzitem.info/rock/6bzukL_eD5wFm7rO10PF_w ***Also LOL some company tried to copyright the midi recording of MY ORIGINAL re-composition based on a clearly public domain piece from 1768. Awesome. Love youtube. (They also have no grounds to claim sound recording copyright because…… as far as I know they do not own this midi recording I made in Logic)

This is great! And he's famously quoting the 3rd Brandenburg!

Great info. I enjoyed the last video as well. Look into mastering the audio to make it easier to listen.

You know what I would rather prefer to see. Id rather see you actually make a new composition in the style of Stravinsky. You can analyse all you want but its also about applying that knowlegde in an effective way.

Skip to the end! there's a bit of re-compose of the Haydn symphony a la Stravinsky. If you're asking about original compositions, then yes! I also have some of those in the works as well! This is more of an academic tool for people interested in studying!

I don’t know, that’s sort of a waste of energy. And not necessary. There’s plenty of composers writing in that style you can refer to. Or you can do it yourself. 🙂

@@BrandonMaahsMusic I geuss the question is, Is the end goal analysing and understanding Stravinsky then sure. But the title suggest the end goal is actually composing something in the style of stravinksy. Surely achieving the end goal the title is suggesting isnt a waste of energy. In the end of the vid he did do just that. I missed that so sorry on my part. But that means the creator of the vid agrees no?

@@kazvanrooij Of course! I totally understand your critique and how it could be helpful to hear a totally original piece built up from the ground to understand how it all works. Glad you enjoyed the video!
