Fun and informative video. You are both beautiful without make-up. The makeup is enhancing. I have a challenge for you both! Find a 55-65 YO Gay Man, withh bags and circles, some age spots, etc.. for a natural look! We (husband and I) used to be beautiful as you both Are... but we want to go out feel good about ourselves... and don’t want to look like old queens.... ( no disrepect intended)...

From a cosplayer point of view where we live and die by a similar contouring method, one thing I'll note is that the foundation tone he chose for you is wrong (and it's a common and easy mistake that I only recently learned about) and is the one thing that throws the look hard: the clear line from where he applied makeup to where he didn't, which we always want to avoid because harsh contouring doesn't have to look like we're obviously wearing makeup. Especially with not tinting around the facial hair, you can see the darker color of where there's makeup and it's disconcerting, but even without that it's a sharp contrast to your neck. The trick is matching your foundation to your "undertone", which sounds confusing and is a wall of "???" (I had a mental BSOD for years when people talking about peachy/pink/silver/etc undertones) that can be reduced to simply testing foundations by painting them in a stripe from your cheek to your neck, letting it dry, and then seeing which one blends invisible against your neck. Most people match their foundation to the surface color on their cheeks, which is different, and then it looks like you're wearing a mask even if you blend it out because your neck/the skin you can see through your facial hair doesn't match. Try this exact look with a lighter foundation that will blend invisible against your neck and I 1000% guarantee that even with the striking contouring you'll look infinitely more natural. Otherwise A+ video, super entertaining and enjoyed it.

You can use cream or liquid foundation in the stubble it just depends on the brush you use. A beauty blender would give more texture nor would it blend well into the beard/stubble hair. I use a stippling brush and than buff it out with a buffering brush a bit of a process but it works. Now for dark circles, there is definitely quite a few products to use to cancel out the dark circles. Since you like more of a natural look I would use the NYX Dark Circle corrector in light and than your favorite concealer on top of that or you can layer like I do and use Becca Brightening Color corrector on top of that and tha your concealer.

Just found this channel, I've been a make-up artist/performer/face-paint geek for almost 30 years, and I'm loving what I see so far 🙂 If I were to get fussy, the key thing that I would stress to people to remember with contour is that it's supposed to be casting a shadow, and it needs to have a grey base or undertone not a red base if that makes sense. The product your friend used on your face here reads a bit red, and that might just be from filming, but for me it just looks too obvious - more like a blush instead of a contour. But otherwise yeah great vid. Keep up the good work Carl 👍

I agree. Unless the drag queen look is what your looking for.... For the make up artist, WAY TOO much lip gloss ! He looks like he ate grease and forgot to wipe it off. Trying too hard does not enhance the beauty gift you have been given already. Too much make up both for woman or man makes you look like you are made out of plastic, not very human.... not very attractive, unless you are fond of plastic.

Hey guys. Maybe a strange question. I just started getting into this as a male. 42 years old and I’m curious if the silk filter in that FaceApp is a possibility with makeup lol. I have started to buy my first products. But couldn’t get it anywhere near as close to that. And the look kind of looked powdery and not smooth silky look. Would love to get help on how to go this.
