Paul what’s the odds on doing an unconventional over seed of a 100% perennial rye yard with a hybrid Bermuda? I’m maybe an hour west of you. I have a reel mowed rye yard now and was thinking of running a slit seeder over it in the next few weeks and put some Bermuda seed out. Probably a terrible idea, but thought I’d pick your brain. The rye looks sooo good right now, was thinking maybe the Bermuda would come in as the rye faded.
@PaulsPrimeCuts
3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, it won’t work. In about May kill your rye with glyphosate and put down an improved Bermudagrass seed like Monaco, Arden 15 , princess 77 or sun queen. Perennial rye won’t just transition out it will severely stress and poison your favorable turf. Plus with the amount of water you will be putting on your seed ... that rye ain’t going anywhere unless you kill it chemically

Live outside of Philly, PA and have mostly KBG lawn and it didn't hurt it.
