Self Control, discipline, and honest hard work; are things that are becoming more absent in our country. This video is not about controlling your emotions, being more self-aware, and giving yourself a break. I’m going to be tough, and call stupid stupid, and smart smart. It’s not that complicated.

1. Need Vs Want
None of us are special, just because I think I need a new a new phone or a vacation does not mean I need it
We all have the same exact needs as humans
So here is the list of 4
Shelter, Utilities, Groceries and Transportation
That’s it if you make $4,000 a month and these expenses are $2,000 dollars
You should be saving $2,000 dollars a month
That’s the truth
However: Be Honest and Be Real
If you don’t want to do that
Then don’t call your unnecessary spending, something you need, because you don’t
And if instead of you getting out of debt in 5 months, it takes you 12 months
Or instead, you saving $10k in 6 months it takes you 2 years
Be really honest with yourself, and be willing to take that
2. Grow Up
Money is not free, it costs you time
that $1000 iPhone you have, cost you roughly 50 hours
and no it’s not worth it (although you say it is for you )
Here is my point: As People Get older, they used to get wiser, but now it seems like a lot of people get dummer ( why? Because it’s constant competition with marketing and society )
You would be working towards being debt-free
You should have savings
You should be working on some investments
And you should be trying to get a paid off your house
Honest talk:
Stop talking about getting rich and wealth and all this stuff
Just get your house and your finances in order
I rather have no need to work and an income of $2000 a month
Than be making 10k or 20k months and be trading my time for money
3. Manipulation
Your ideas are not your ideas
Imagine growing up in the school system until you turn 18
Spending 4 years in college
And thousands of hours on a phone or just getting bad advice about a lot of stuff
You may think you are defending your values when you say:
Credit cards are good
I deserve a vacation
Life is about enjoyment
Don’t take things so seriously
I love my job and I work it forever
Ask yourself, why do I think that way.
It’s a lot of indoctrination
4. You Don’t deserve anything
There is a simple principle in life
If you plant, you harvest
If you don’t plant you don’t harvest
The idea that:
I work hard so I deserve more money or a better life
At its core, we all have the life we deserve
If you want to change that, you’ll have to be intentional
There is no way to get wealth by accident: even the lottery winner has to play the lottery
5. Become Patient
Delayed gratification is so important
Income:
Instead of spending what you traded time for money
Invest the money and then spend the money your money made you
Instead of Getting a car you have wanted since you were a kid
Get the 2005 Corolla for $2,000 and invest that $500 per month
Instead of going on vacation and to get rest from work
Get 10 more jobs, just kidding
Go on a road trip and see what’s around your own place
Entertain yourself
