Conversion to DIY rear-wheel drive of my Audi A4 B5 2.8 V6 Quattro. The beginning of the preparation for DRIFT.
In this TUTORIAL I show you detail in detail how to pass a 4x4 drive car (front wheel drive would be a very different process) to REAR TRACTION (RWD).
The first thing would be to weld the central differential of the car (it is in the last body of the gearbox). Then we simply have to remove the front bearings, leaving the end of the bearing inside the stub axles (in this way the bearings of the front wheels will not come off.
And that would be all. A car converted to RWD in a simple way, starting from a Quattro (4x4 - AWD)
How much have we spent? What materials do we need?
We will only need basic workshop tools (hexagonal keys, allen, pliers ...), and a welding machine (it is perfectly suitable electrode, thread, mig or tig)
The costs of this chapter are estimated at € 7.50, since we have only spent a few meters of welding wire (about € 2.50), and a splash of valvulina, to fill the optimal level of the box (€ 5) .
In the following episode: we will weld the rear differential, and we will do the other processes (seats, harnesses, tires, wheels ...) to continue riding a drift car based on an Audi A4 B5 2.8 V6 Quattro.
