I'm Fijian and this is the first time i'm seeing dalo (taro) cooked this way. I'm definitely gonna try this out.

You can't go wrong eating this dish with corned beef. Love the singing from the Mildura Pukapuka Community and the little demo from Wale Vocals. Crack up at the end "human meat" 😂😂😂

Aloha and Mahalo mai Hawaiʻi. Us Native Hawaiians make a very similar dish called kūlolo (tūlolo) and uses the same basic ingredients of taro (kalo/wāwā) and coconut cream (kai niu). Kūlolo is a bit different because we grate our taro, which makes the kūlolo turn out more like a pudding, and we also add kōpaʻa, or sugar.

Aloha! Kūlolo sounds similar to the Cook Island, Pukapukan dish Mawu. All the Cook Islands have a similar dish but have a different name to it (depending on their dialect). So awesome to hear the similarities in our dishes! Thanks for watching! Kia Orana!
