much needed and much underrated video for prospective students. I wonder why this video has no comments yet. except 'having a good mentorship' most of the part we all know commonly. but irony is that we human tend to forget those and tend pull down ourselves whenever such 'imposter syndrome' attacks..Thank you for sharing your valueable and experienced thoughts with us.

I never knew that this has a specific term. I thought that it was just because of the consequence of A type personalities always trying to grade and compare their own self-worth with others. I think it could be structural. The idea of academics is to pursue interesting topics in a field of study. However, systems like grading and curves artificially "grade" people in an artificial hierarchy, even when artificial hierarchies isn't needed for functioning modern society. When can the academic environment be structured around cooperation instead of competition? If academics could join forces and cooperate instead of tiptoe around avoiding plagiarism and competing with their peers, I'm betting more academics will have much more satisfaction out of their efforts and contribution to society.
