I'm 14 and I needed to learn to cover my books properly. This has been so helpful. The first book I ever covered was using this video, and there isn't a single mark or bubble on it. THANKYOU SO MUCH

This just isn't working for me. I have 30 exercise books to cover and done only about 6 so far that look decent. It keeps getting bubbles, so I pull the contact off as best I can, and sometimes the whole goddamn book rips. I have to buy two new books now because of contact and I've wasted two 1m rolls. . What am I doing wrong?
@JacquelinePascarl
7 жыл бұрын
Not quite sure what you are doing that is going wrong, but as to the bubbles, and waste, the best thing I can suggest to save money is prick the bubbles with a very small pin and then ease out the air. You can also peel a small amount of the contact and attach to the table to ease your predicament. Hope this helps.
@nicolefowler6725

Hi Jacqueline, thanks for the reply. I think the biggest problem is that I just suck at this kind of stuff, lol. I've gotten a little bit better with practice though and I think they are turning out adequate at this point. Your tip for using a pin to prick the bubbles is a really good idea, I will give that a shot. I'm still using your technique, as I think it's the best one out of all the videos on KZitem. Thanks again :-)

Dear Nicole, I feel for you, I really do! Hang in there, no-one is a superwoman and all those so called perfect parents out there are secretly hiding great insecurity. I promise that neither the teachers or your kids will remember if the contact on the books was perfect or not - but they will recall laughing with you as you battle the sticky beast! I know how much the books cost and of course you want to be able to sell them off at a good second hand price later. If you are really still bothered by wrinkly contact plastic, then you could hide the wrinkles by adding heavy duty and pretty wrapping paper over the top and change it when it gets manky or torn. Cheers, Jacqueline

I wish I watched this before I started trying to contact books for my sons Pre School not the nightmare you showed but I didn't cut the edges first I did it before I stuck the sides down now the books I have done have massive air pockets and I can't fold them evenly flat I have always been bad at measuring but tried to follow the grid as best I could never been good at all with measurements and now the books are covered but are uneven and yuck. The problem is with my eldest can't get him to leave me alone for long enough to do anything and my youngest has been driving me nuts to the point where if i don't rush everything gets pulled off tables so I can't concentrate and can't really yell at him cause his like a one year old and just wants MUM but if I put him down he just screams the house down it doesn't help! Nothing really distracts him and if I don't strap him into something he is constantly under my feet or pulling and standing at my legs! You live learn and go crazy doing it.

Frances Ottewill Dear Frances, all this stuff that we do for our kids or our kids' schools just sucks the life out of us mothers sometimes. But just know that it will get better. Sometimes it will be crappy, but the good times and the funny, ridiculous stuff will float to the top and keep you going when all seems too much. You are not alone, I've been there too, and half of all mothers you meet lie when they say their kids are perfect or not trouble. J xx
