I have recently discovered your informative videos. As a newbie I need to know if and how I can bevel a narrow edge to 45 degrees using a hand plane. I tried using a jigsaw and it just didn't work well. Is there any help for me? I don't want to invest in a power miter box. Thanks for your advise!

But how do you chamfer/bevel the edge grain side if you don't want any chamfer/bevel on the end grain?

dave hyper thnx! I’m glad you liked it. One tip I don’t think I mentioned in the video. If you need a precise bevel, just use a marking gauge and lay a line in where you want to stop and plane down to that. Mark it with a pencil so you can easily see it. Hope that helps!

A trick: watch series on Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

This is a chamfer, not a bevel.

Depends which school of woodworking. Paul Sellers calls it a bevel and I find it hard to challenge him

Peter R a bevel s an angle that occupies the full face, a chamber is an additional angle on a face. A chamfer basically adds a new face/side to a piece of timber, a bevel changes the angle of a face, but the number of faces remains the same.

Id just use a router with a 45 degree bit then sand it.

Hmmm... I finally followed Ann's advice and took woodglut instructions. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
