Great video! Thank you for recording the entire process of creating a Japanese garden.

This european/ auzzie version off a Zen garden is devoid of a fundamental concept ' Less is more' which conveys the feeling of serenity in simplicity. Aan ideal Zen garden is less crowded with distracting laments like a step stone path in the middle of the composition. It is often sharp & covered with moss. A few rocks are strategically planted in harmony with the major ornament - the stone lantern & sui ban.

@@Hannari-xt6nr you definitely know what you are talking about. Thank you for educating us. Please forgive them. That's how best they could be close to the theme.

@@Hannari-xt6nr oh you are totally right! We would be skinned alive. But once again, we need more people like you to educate us because honestly, I personally had no clue Zen was a religion! To be it was a state of mind/attitude. I guess because of how the word is used on the regular in the West. But I totally get your point. I now understand the part in the video where the lady asks about the position of the stones. Response was for air circulation. I guess it should be deeper than that. Nowadays, we are quick to appropriate other's culture without really knowing the backstory, making so many mistakes in the process.

Well, it’s beautiful use of available space. It looks so much better than the empty grass. This is lovely. The Japanese elements of the stones, lantern, bamboo and plants harmonizes beautifully.

The Zen garden is very beautiful to look at, especially the bambus door ! But unfortunately there are no nectar plants at all, which to me is an absolutely must in these days. Please think at bees and other animals, when you plan a garden. Thank you!

Bees don't like Camelias?
@wuffgluck452
Жыл бұрын
@@danskdna8550 perhaps they like camelias, but one kind of flower is not enough anyway. it only blooms a certain time and then it's over. If we want to attract and support biodiversity, we have to include many more different plants, which bloom-one after the others- from spring to autumn. And we should not close too much of the earth with stones and other materials. I really like beautiful Zen Gardens, but my heart beats for biodiversity 💚

Love your channel! And love this small garden especially as I’ll redo my side yard this summer. I’ve noticed that you don’t untangle plants’ roots from their nursery pots when planting them in garden beds. I thought that untangling roots when planting was a must do. What is your (more knowledgeable) reason for not untangling the roots when planting?
@patriciaalbertson5183

Probably. Depends on the root ball, and what condition. It is in.. If the roots are matted, they won't adjust to their new homevery easy

ecological hell, there is no life for nature, insects, nectar producing plants have no place, there is no ground left for rainwater going down the soil which is important for groundwater that is used for drinking water. greens and plants are needed in towns for cooling effect in the summer as well, too much stone absorbs heat in summer. i hope this trend stops immediatelly. and zen doesnt mean just esthetic and status, its a spiritual attitude and has to follow stricter rules than a western mindless individualist consumer thinks it is.
