Hello Friends,
To create an EC2 instance running Linux on AWS (Amazon Web Services), you can follow these steps:
Sign in to the AWS Management Console at console.aws.am....
Open the EC2 service by searching for "EC2" in the AWS Management Console search bar and selecting "EC2" from the results.
In the EC2 Dashboard, click on the "Launch Instances" button.
Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) that corresponds to the Linux distribution you want to use. You can search for "Linux" in the search bar, and the available Linux AMIs will be displayed. Select the one that matches your preferred Linux distribution and version (e.g., Amazon Linux 2, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
Choose an Instance Type. Select the instance type that meets your requirements for CPU, memory, and storage. The available options may vary depending on the region you have selected.
Configure Instance Details. Here, you can configure various settings, such as the number of instances to launch, network settings, subnet, security groups, and IAM role. Make sure to select the appropriate VPC and subnet, and configure the necessary security groups and IAM role as per your requirements.
Add Storage. Specify the size and type of the root volume for your instance. You can also add additional storage volumes if needed.
Configure Security Group. Set up security group rules to control inbound and outbound traffic to your instance. By default, SSH access on port 22 should be allowed for Linux instances.
Review Instance Launch. Review the configuration details of your instance. If everything looks correct, click on "Launch" to proceed.
Select a Key Pair. If you haven't created a key pair before, you need to create a new key pair or choose an existing one. The key pair allows you to connect to your Linux instance securely using SSH.
Launch Instances. After selecting the key pair, click on "Launch Instances" to launch your EC2 instance.
Accessing the Linux Instance. Once the instance is launched, you can obtain its public IP address from the EC2 Dashboard. To connect to the Linux instance, use an SSH client (e.g., OpenSSH, PuTTY) and provide the public IP address and the private key associated with the key pair you selected during instance launch.
That's it! You have successfully created an EC2 instance running Linux on AWS. You can now remotely access and manage your Linux instance using SSH. Remember to manage and secure your instance by applying appropriate security measures, such as disabling password-based SSH authentication, keeping the operating system updated, and configuring security groups and firewall settings as required.
