Thank you for the awesome content and wealth of information. You selflessly offered gems. I'm into health and wellness but find it extremely challenging to market vegan and plant based information because it's oversaturated. Any suggestions on how to angle courses so that the information is different yet, valuable. I'm all about good information vs trendy ideas

A MAJOR point to remember is that there are literally 1000s of FREE videos, seminars, classes, etc on every topic under the sun:, even how to build an Etsy shop and how to lose weight. Selling a course that only provides the same info is a losing proposition. Do research and make YOUR COURSE different, unique, with different or better outcomes. Practice presentation and learn graphic design. Believing that you can simply read a book or lose some weight and have all the answers is bogus. Especially when you are 21 years of age. You're better off finding work that will enhance your own life first. You don't really know anything without first learning many things.

Some instructors seem to present their curriculum in a webinar, mastermind or boot camp. This is often presented on a platform like Zoom for free. In the end of this presentation, it becomes the sales funnel for coaching, memberships or more detailed courses.

Hi Melissa, love your content. I have a course slides done and now need to film lessons. I saw your video on Tella and was going to use this but I did see you had it only at number 15 on your list of recording apps. Do you think Tella is ok? Also on cameras. As you are recording while sharing slides do you use the Mac camera, a webcam or a separate camera e.g. Sony ZV-E10 (I'm not sure how you would use this camera to shoot slide presentations? Thanks Richard

Thank you, Richard! For Tella, although I personally prefer other tools (for breadth of features and reliability), I know a lot of happy Tella customers in the Wit & Wire community. So if you’ve tested it and enjoy the product, then that’s what matters most. For cameras, you can see my current picks in this free guide: witandwire.com/videotoolkit

Hi Melissa, Was curious about conversion rates. My course was selling like hotcakes during Winter and Spring, and then kind of slumped this summer (despite having more daily KZitem and email subscribers than ever). Do you ever find that your conversion rate drops in the summer (or some particular season?)

Love this Melissa great tips! So I wrote a comment on another video of yours but I just wanted to touch on it some more. So Ive made 8k lyric videos and motion covers and now want to make a course teaching how to make them and also how people can start their own motion gfx business. Is tiktok a good fit for this? lyric videos are very popular on tiktok. Do you think lyric videos is a good course to do?
@witandwire
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm so glad to hear these videos have been helpful. I'm sure you may have seen the previous comment I just left, but here's the most important question: I'd first want to know if there's demand. Do people ask you for more info on how you edit your videos? Or if not, do you see profit indicators or demand in the marketplace for the concept? I'd look to see if there are any competitors. (These are questions I'd recommend researching and making notes about on your own.) Beyond that, after you validate demand, if you're looking for more strategies, it's something I get into extensively in my course creation program, which you can learn more about here: witandwire.com/courses This week only, I also have an intro course in this bundle where you can get 62 courses for $97, which is usually the price of my course alone (ends 9/27/22): ultimatebundles.com/tgbtk2022-sales-page/#a_aid=5f2d8ea4755e6&a_bid=fa049a0d (No pressure on any of those options, just wanted to share in case they're helpful!)

This is great content thank you Melissa! I wonder about the founder's round, how do you find your first students?
@witandwire
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That's a great question, and it depends on your current audience and what your topic is, so it's something I cover more in-depth in the full Course Creator Mastermind. (witandwire.com/course-creator-mastermind) Much as I wish I could, it's tough to give a one-size-fits-all answer since marketing is so personal. But usually, you'd start with the audiences you already have and expand from there.

What can i do, to put any music with copyright in a Video course?
@witandwire
Жыл бұрын
I personally wouldn’t recommend using copyright music since you’d have to pay for those rights. If there’s a specific example where you need the music and you’re talking about it, it might be considered educational, but I’d recommend consulting with a lawyer first. But generally, my best advice is to avoid copyrighted music in online courses and digital marketing.

Do you charge any taxes on top of the course fee, or you include them in the fee you advertise for the course?
@witandwire
2 ай бұрын
Since I’m not an accountant, I can’t offer financial advice here. But I can say that it depends on your country (and often, your state), and whether or not you want to pay those taxes out of pocket or pass them along to the customer is a great question for both you and an accountant.
