To create meaning entails that there is no inherent meaning (thus we 'create' one), which is a sort of self-defeating philosophy. Maybe to 'discover' would be more appropriate, in that it affirms objective meaning and encourages others to find it.

I appreciare your viewpoint! I personally still believe we are the ones that create meaning to things as we perceive them. Nothing usually matters to us until our biases, experiences, dictate something to have meaning. Just like things become relevant to us as they are brought to light, certain diseases that run in or appear in families but otherwise we may have forever been oblivious to

@@TheVinDiagram but the thing is, diseases must exist, in order to be brought to light. So by parallel reasoning, meaning must exist in order to be brought to light. Just because we are oblivious to some unknown fact X, it does not follow that X does not exist. It only follows that we have no knowledge of X. The Protagorean thesis, that "man is the measure of all things", leads to relativism, which cannot account for the possibility of knowledge and is thus self-defeating. That's why I initially suggested that "to discover" might be better in that it presupposes the existence of meaning, whereas "to create" does not.
