How to create Green Screen weather reports on the iPad w/ Keynote, Apple Maps, iMovie & Green Screen
How to build a Green Screen weather report without a Green Screen. Use Keynote backgrounds with different colours to get the right affect. Students can build their weather report sitting at their desk.
This video goes through a workflow to produce a weather report. There are four steps using six different apps.
- Apple Maps
- Photos
- Safari
- Keynote
- Doink GreenScreen
- iMovie
Before approaching this project, students should have used apps such as Notes and Pages to brainstorm and plan their weather report script and content.
Step 1 - Maps, Photos, Safari
Students will use Apple Maps and screenshot a map, cropping in Photos. They will use Photos to crop the image.
Step 2 - Keynote
Students will create a slide with the images from Step 1. They will use animations to bring in weather symbols. They will add a coloured background that can be replaced in Step 3. They will export the Keynote presentation as a movie.
Step 3 - Greenscreen
Student will use the Doink Greenscreen app to add the movie from step 2. Remove the background colour and add themselves into the move before exporting the movie to the camera roll.
Step 4 - iMovie
Students will use iMovie to edit the movie together using titles and music from a professional look.
