Thank you very much for these Matt. I know the tutorial was using pawn sensing rather than the newer AI perception but it put me on the right track to figure it out using the latter system. Almost got it working as I want it to and I don't think I would have managed without your help here.

Super star Matt, Thank you! Quick question please. How to completely replace the (Player Start) with my Third Person Character so that it does not show the 2 characters in the scene. Thanks in advance!

I think I followed the video, but for some reason, the AI isn't moving towards my player character when the detection bar is red. Any idea why? I'm in 5.1 if that helps at all Edit: Figured it out. Didn't have a nav mesh bound volume

It's a very uselful lesson! Thank you Matt :) And I'd like to ask you a question. Could you make a video tutorial on how to create a fast inventory like in "hello neighbor" or "minecraft"?

how you handle with multiple enemies?

I know it's not the right place to ask but I have an ai that can follow and attack a player and also can just walk around as followed by your videos. But can you make a video that combines these two things. As my ai won't do both, as it sees the player then starts to run to it and then runs off because the code for it randomly walking kicks in.

will you finish this with part 3?

I might do an extra part with pointing the indicator toward the AI. But other than that, this is done.

What exactly is Direction output in Timeline node and what is forward/backward on EnumSwitch?
@jorbascrumps
2 жыл бұрын
It's exactly what you said - which direction the timeline is currently playing. When you execute the play node on start detection the timeline direction is forward, and when you execute reverse it is backwards. Think of it like rewinding a tape deck.
@MattAspland

Exactly what Chris said! And more specifically for the Enum. It allows us to see which direction is actually currently being used, and then the Switch allows us to fire off different lines of code dependant on which direction the timeline is playing.

So is it called every milisecond like event tick or is it updated when timeline changes from forward to backward and backward to forward?

@tradde11 do I just add it and it’s automatically connected to the AI because it still isn’t moving ?
