I first saw this pouch made on Twin Days channel. I made several this size to hold cell phone charger cords when traveling. Then I made some smaller ones to use as Aldi Quarter Caddy's. I made the square 5 1/2 inches and the tab 2 inches. I put a key ring on the little tab. Now I always have a quarter handy and don't have to fumble in my purse for it. I gave them to several of my Aldi shopping friends and they loved them.

We have been making these at our local craft/art collective for a December kids function we do. I've been making bags for years and want to make one small suggestion. Because zipper tape frays very easily, scorching the ends of the zipper with a lighter will eliminate that worry, or, dropping some Frey Check on the ends of the zipper.

Thank you, Becca. Your instructions and demonstrations are so well paced and clear. The best part for me was the tip for leaving one side of the zipper tape at least an inch longer than the other for applying the zipper slide. I have watched several tutorials on applying the zipper slide, but your method is by far, the simplest. Again, thanks. Kathleen in Canada

In our guild we’re making these with 10” squares and selling them with binding clips. Of course others are using them for ear pods and other small tech items in a purse. I’m also making 5 & 6” squares for pill pods. Super cute. On the larger ones we’ve boxed corners at 3/4” to give the pods some depth. I like your pull tab, so am going to add that onto some of ours. We’ve just discovered the fold in half to a triangle process and it is super fast. And I agree that these are addicting! Cute, and you’ve done a great tutorial for everyone. 👍👍👍

Duhhhhh I had a blonde moment. I do now realize how we would get for out of one fat quarter. I think these are just the cutest little things. They remind me of the pouches that were made probably 10 years ago when they first started using the half a zippers and we used YKK. I could never figure out at that time how to put that pull back on. LOL. I won't even have to use my zipper jig now that you explain this in the zip up your coat method. And I will convince my machine that it is okay to go over those multiple layers and thick seam

Thanks for another great tutorial. These are great for so many different things and easy to make bigger or as you showed to change the shape. I’ll definitely be making these and might just use pinking shears on the inside seams or maybe binding. I have an overlocker (serger) but don’t really like the way the seams look when finished this way. When you started and said you need a FQ I was like WHAT! how can that need a whole FQ? 😂 😂😂 Left over layer cake squares would also be great for this. I wonder what a 4 patch made with charm squares would look like as it’s folded in half diagonally.

Perfectly clear tutorial - Thanks Becca! If you need a little holder for doggy pickup bags, all you need to do is make about a three quarter inch buttonhole in the bottom, opposite the zipper and feed the baggies that come on a roll through the buttonhole. The size you made will hold two rolls of baggies, I think. The loop can be made as a tab with a cam snap so that it can be easily attached to the loop on your dog's leash, or add a key ring.

Thank you Becca for this tutorial. I am really excited to try it tomorrow. My concern is the zipper pulls. I have tons of Zippers but if I just use one side of the tape I use up the zipper pull and don’t have a pull for the other side. I just buy zippers from Fabricland and I don’t think they sell extra pulls. And certainly not the color of the tape, oh well I guess I just get one bag per zipper, I have lots so I guess it’s ok. You are very clear with your instructions thanks again 😊
