I loved the idea of this pattern and started very enthusiastically! I enjoyed doing the cable panels but becuase I was doing a larger size, it turned into a nightmare!! I could not get the sleeve to work at all either! I tried it 3 times - front would be good but back of sleeve would not match up!! So frustrating!! I eventually did sleeves separately - crocheting from cuff up!! It would great if you could include stitch counts and measurements for those of us who are doing larger sizes, thank you!

I would like to start a story for you! 5 Days ago I got cream yarn and Verigated yarn and made my first hat (mostly cream with a verigated brim! So pretty) Well, I had lots of verigated yarn left and I don't like things to be matchy matchy so I tried to find something to coordinate with my hat to make. I came back to this video 8 times before I decided what the heck. Redoing 3-6 15 times before I finally got the hang of it, I am now on row 60 with cream twists! I never did a treble or double treble crochet before and learning so much! Be back soon for part 2!💞

The design is beautiful, but I have to say I had a hard time making a size different than in the video. I tried to make a medium and it came out horrible, so I had to frog it. I’d suggest giving measurements for the various parts as you go so we know if we’re on target size-wise. I think that would have helped me. Frogging the piece wasn’t that easy either, with all the seams.

I am making this one and having a hard time also. I’m using same yarn as used in video. For back it was 8” for centre. I added an extra inch because I need a medium. Once I added the front panels it was soooo small. So I had to take out all the seams and now adding more rows to centre back. Think I’ll do it for about 11” before adding panels back on. I think I will also add about 4 to 5 rows to front panels (author added one for her size). It is going to be very nice and once I figure out for my size, so the next one will be much easier. It is frustrating though.

This looks absolutely amazing 🤩 Is it a must to use the same yarn you're using? Is it okay if I use a 100% cotton yarn?

You can definitely use cotton! Just keep up with the measurements, are you're good to go!

This is my next project, it's beautiful. I do have a question though. I know this is for a small. What are the measurements when completed for the small size? I'm normally a small/medium and want to figure out where to adjust if I need to before starting. Thanks!!!

Of course! This is a small, but plenty roomy. The width of this was roughly 18 inches. 😊
