There will always be mean people. I have given up trying to understand. I loved watching Arne crochet the flowers in the podcast and am looking forward to the tutorial and, eventually, making this fun afghan myself. I'm not a big crocheter, but this afghan is so cheerful and fun, I feel I must make it.

The lighting was exceptional and with your blue shirts and light hair and the many colorful flowers laying on the table, even if I didn't have sound, it would be a visual delight. I want to apologize for the angry viewers though I have no control over what others say. You always make it very clear which is a podcast and which is a tutorial. La verdad es que con el Podcast saqué el patrón. Pero tejo desde los cuatro años. Nice that you hear people that disagree with your pod cast’s content because takes a big heart and sensibility to deal with complaints. That being said, for the newbies: your channel is more about the culture of creativity that grows around fiber arts. Inspiration, a peaceful disposition. Is about the continuous gifts that working with yarn /color texture and composition add to our lives. And is about a couple of loving guys that share with us through their discoveries, the grace of being alive. Thanks. Un abrazo.

I guess I'm very old school. I learned to crochet from my grandmother using the metal hooks with the little pinched flat area and learned to hold the hook like a pencil. I'm so used to having that little pinched portion to help turn the hook when I'm bringing it through a loop. I do most of my crocheting with crochet thread rather than yarn. I bet that pattern would look fabulous in crochet thread -- almost like Battenburg lace. You should do a pattern using one of those flowers with a border around for a coaster, and you could do summer placemats, too. P.S., both of you looked very dapper in your blue and white shirts.

It's so nice to be working on my Headvig throw along with you. 😊 Thank you so much for demonstrating how to do the picot! I was doing it differently, but your way looks so much nicer.

Hello guys. I have been making my flowers and they are coming out so beautifully! Mine curl up a bit but I did a practice of crocheting a few together and they flatten out just fine. I have a tip if anyone would like...it’s about the picot. So, working on the petal, after the 8 triples, I chain 3 then go into same stitch Arne shows, but then I don’t go into the 3rd stitch he shows but rather I go into the little nub just Obote & behind the stitch Arne uses, them I slip to finish picot. When I’m done, the picot is exactly perfect, not twisted, and has a beautiful finish!! I hope that helps. It’s always hard to explain without showing but for those who are making this, you’ll understand. I also am noticing that you often use a dark 3rd color which makes the flowers pop more. I think I’ll do the same and use a darker color 3. Lastly, I was going crazy trying to figure out what color yarn to buy because I don’t have a stash and never used wool before. I had no idea where to even start in choosing colors, and live on very low fixed income, so I couldn’t afford to make mistakes and waste money buying the wrong yarn!! So I tried buying yarns and making each flower exactly as your printed chart!! 😱😅 but some of the colors, when they got mailed to me, didn’t look like they did online and stuck out too much with my other flowers. I almost had to quit the project because I’m really not supposed to be spending money anyway, but to spend it and not like the way the throw was turning out!! No way! So, if I can help others in this same problem, I learned to buy more subtle colors, NOT lime green but a softer green... not bright aqua blue but a more greenish blue, and as for blues I bought more grayish blues. Heather colors work nice too in my opinion. And I looked for these colors in light, medium and dark shades. (Lol. I said “lastly” up above but I’m still taking.) So, another lastly... I have one more thing to share that I’ve learned and once I stopped trying to copy the flowers on the chart and just made flowers that I liked, I am SO HAPPY!! What I do is, I make a flower that I think is gorgeous! I want this throw to be so that when I see it I don’t have any of those moments where I see a flower I wish I hadn’t used. No way! This is such a special project for me and is bringing me happiness at a time in my life that is so deeply unhappy, that it is saving my sanity! So I want to enjoy every created flower and love every flower every time I see my finished throw. So, I’ll even take a color out that I don’t like and make it until I love each flower. I haven’t started connecting the flowers yet. I need to buy my background yarn. I was going to use a navy blue background but now that I’m seeing your throw again and seeing the beautiful dark blues you use in your 3rd colors, I want to use my navy blue for color 3 instead of using my navy as a background color. So now I need to find a deal for about 9 skeins of just the right dark olive green color yarn for the background, like you have. Thats another thing I want to mention... on top of going through a horrendous time and having very little money at all for yarn, I have found some people on EBay who have been very kind and helpful to me, making this project possible!! And willing to sell me their single skeins for decent prices, and I am so grateful to them because I couldn’t do this without them!!! One is a seller on EBay that actually has a sheep farm in Vermont in New England, (I’m on Cape Cod not far from her) and she has been so kind to me!! She sells her own wool from her sheep farm!! But she also sells all kids of gorgeous brands of yarn in her EBay shop! Her EBay seller name is “Luv2Stash”. She has been so wonderful to me, helping me learn about the yarns (because I knew nothing about any of it until I fell in love with this afghan and needed wool yarn!) but she helped me by saying I need to buy yarn that say needle size 7, 8, size. And she was right. So, God bless her! She has saved my life too with help in this happy project and being generous to not charge me too much for yarn. I couldn’t do this without her. I’m sorry to talk on so much but just wanted to tell you how wonderfully this is going for me and how much of a difference it is making in my life at this very tough time. The pattern was a little difficult to understand as in America we say things differently in crochet pattern but with the videos and the pattern AND the charts, it’s very learnable and so worth it! I can’t wait to snuggle up with my beautiful Hezig throw and it will ALWAYS remind me of the joy I had making it rather than the memories of the hell I’m suffering, and I’ll always remember the kind woman selling me good yarn and letting me pay less. Let’s hope she has my background color. Lol Ok well Thank you so much for this life changing project that’s bringing me unspeakable JOY!! and God bless you!!! 🙏🏼

Both looking great, love the shirts, blue and white so fresh looking 🌞 I really like all the colours in the blanket but have been thinking about reducing the amount to suit my home, that could take a few months to decide, I tire myself out making my mind up. Going through the stitch depends what I am crocheting and what I crochet with, the finer the wool like 1ply or threads I definitely go through the stitches. You are both so kind and generous with all you teach and share, thank you so much 💖🌸🐾
