PuLsEm... thank you for this comment. I noticed it too. This delightful man has an incredibly calm and leisurely way of speaking and of demonstrating his technique. He doesn't rush, his English is superb, you feel you can just slow down and take life at a gentler pace - that it's ok to take your time about things and they will turn out better for doing so. A lovely video.

This is great! My older brother used to do this when I was little, back in the mid 70's. He made an entire set of glasses this way.

Thanks for posting this, I just ordered one based on it. And reading the Amazon reviews someone had a good idea for achieving the hot/cold that your candle and ice cube did: a pot of boiling (or hot) water, and a pot of ice water. Alternate between the two, easy peazy. Excited to try it.

I like this man! He has such a laid-back, calm way of speaking! He does this glass bottle cutting in a leisurely way with no loud-mouthed drama ... and best of all, despite being American, his command of the English language is excellent - he doesn't start every sentence with "SO" ! Thank you for the best explanation of how to cut bottles that I've seen!

What.. i commented before I saw the Kaleidoscope. I am a collector of Kaleidoscopes. I also do torch glasswork. Making your own kaleidoscope is one thing but doing it out the bottles. This video is great.. You sir are my hero. A+, two thumbs up!

Thanks for the video, I've been trying to cut beer bottles and such for a year or so and always get to the point of frustration where they get to meet my firearms. Didn't know they made cutters for bottles.

I dont know why, but this video is just so relaxing and chilling. With the sounds he made and the old radio(?) in the background. Sometimes i watch the video as the last video of the day, when i almost fall alseep in front of my pc.

K-tel marketed these in Australia back in the seventies. My dad bought one, and only ever cut a handful of bottles. We made a big bowl and a huge funnel out of an empty wine flagon.

I dig it. I need to buy one of those bottle cutters or rig up another way to score the glass evenly. And I am sure it was edited for times sake. I think a propane torch would move it along a little faster. The kaleidoscope is pretty sweet. The wood work was very nice as well.

This video made me feel like I was learning from grampa or something lol ... good job. I've been trying to cut a bottle using string/lighter fluid/ice water but no luck the glass is too thick. I think I will get a new dremel head for my rotary tool and do it that way.

This was great. I remember this as a kid. I wondered if a person still could buy a bottle cutter... Great way to reuse an bottles. Thanks for sharing... Oh... I can answer my own question from looking at the website (link in the description). There is an adaptor for cutting bottle necks which is only $6.00. Awesome!

For you mini bar: If you use bottles which have non-paper labels, i.e. Grey Goose Vodka, you have very unique drinking glasses. Make a set or mix them up.

Yes without the cutter you need a string. alcohol and cold water dip the string in alcohol tie it to where u want it cut and light the string on fire rotate bottle standing on top of water then dip the bottle in cold water nice and clean cut
