A recent video I watched by one of my mentors says you should not drain the water cos you would be loosing some healthy nutrients contained on the grain... Rather, you should add dry grains to the already fermented feeds so that it can mix up with the excess water in the fermented feed and no nutrient would be lost.
@richl2723
Жыл бұрын
That is not a good idea either. A study I saw showed that shortly soaked food fills the chicken up resulting in less food consumption in turn leaving the chicken less nourished and it also slows egg production.

@@richl2723 I see. It seems to me that the concern that nutrients leech into the water and would get lost if drained off is a valid one and that fermentation itself would result in less feed consumed because of the "bloating". Have you stumbled upon a better way of feeding with fermented stuff that avoids these issues?
@richl2723
Жыл бұрын
@Norb Well, water doesn't get drained off. Short soaking just adds water weight to the feed, resulting in the birds feeling fuller while actually consuming less food. Like people drinking lots of water, then eating dinner. That's where the bloating is. Im no fermenting expert, but from the way I understand it is, more nutrients are gained and absorbed by the birds, using half the food. No bloating here. The fermented food is 100% in nutrients and double the dry weight. What I've noticed is that my adults eat a bit less. Chicks are pigs!

Yes you can feed your broiler chickens with fermented feed. You can start feeding your chickens fermented feed from day 1, provided the feeders u use are not trays, because we wouldn't want the baby chicks to get wet while eating. you should ferment the feed for about 3 days, it warm climatic areas such as Africa don't go beyond 3 days. For illustrative purposes, if you ferment feed on Monday morning, feed the chickens that fermented feed on Thursday morning.

please answer my doubts one by one 1)in what age of chicken should I start to give them fermented food, should I start from day 1 or day 5 something LIKE THAT or should I start in the age one month after. 2) first we need to soak the company feed into the water, then in 3 days after seeing the form like bubbles it's completely fermented, we need to drain the water and feed it right away. RIGHT? 3) is that okay to feed the fermented feed every day from day one to 1.5 years for layers and everything. with the additional nutritious ways, you said to produce food like worms, fruits, vegetable wastes, etc..... 4) you said chickens start to eat less after weeks of eating fermented food, whats that mean? why and how is it beneficial to the chickens.

is a good method but i feel, you are just going to loss some important Nutrient in the feed because after the Fermentation you then have to make sure you get rid of the water in the feed which to me I think is bad because that water will be hosing much of the Nutrients that has been dissolved into the water and you just have take that water out.
@BestFarmingTips
3 жыл бұрын
no, not at all. the nutrients remain locked in the feed, the water has just softened the feed so that the nutrients can easily be absorbed by the animals. You will realise that the total amount of nutrients a body absorbs when feeding on fermented feed is much more than what it absorbs when feeding on the very same feed but not fermented. In other words, dry feed produces more nutrient wastage than fermented feed. This will be proved when you have your chickens, you separate them into 2 groups, you give the first group fermented feed, and you give the second group dry feed. You will see a vast difference in growth rate and egg production when the laying time comes.

All grains and all commercial feed can be fermented. However, greens such as vegetables and cabbage leaves as well as kitchen waste is what one should never ferment. Hi Trading Hub. My sincere apologies for taking long to reply. 1. Generally an adult chicken eats 200 to 250g of feed per day. However, chickens will tell you if they are getting adequate food or not. If they rush to you when you visit the fowlrun, even without carrying any food, or when they gobble the feed you give them and finish within a few minutes, it means they are hungry and therefore need more food. If you give them food and they fail to finish the feed within a day then it means you are giving them too much food. So after feeding them for almost a week, you should tell how much to give your chickens per day. 2. Yes you can ferment chicken feed for broilers and layers. While you can also give day old chicks fermented feed, however, make sure they wont sit on the feed, as we want the little chicks to stay warm at all times, so use feeders that allow them to only poke their heads into the feeders, and not trays where can can even sit on the wet feed.

hi, what we have to do if the fermented feed is unfeed ?

you should ferment feed that should be consumed within a day. if it's not consumed within a day you risk inflicting your poultry with diarrhea or related diseases. you will probably have to try to dry the feed using direct sunlight, then feed the chickens the dry feed, but always try to ferment what your poultry can consume within a day.

grain chicken feed is the main ingredient, whatever grain feed that you have been giving your chickens, only that this time you are fermenting it first.

Thank for your valuable Video. 1.Are all the additives that commercial chicken feed have the right quality? 2.What else is added to this formation process? 3.How much is FCR? 4.To make 2 kg life bird (Broiler), how many kg of this formatted feed is required?

Hi Raisul. I may not be able to adequately answer all your questions, but what I can tell you is that all commercial chicken feed can be fermented and the benefit is way more than what the chickens get from non-fermented chicken feed. I also want to add on to that by saying, whatever amount of ordinary chicken feed that you normally give your chickens, it is more than what the same chickens consume should you ferment it.

Hi, I really appreciate your effort in helping poultry Farmers...we are currently running a poultry farm with 15000 broiler capacity in India. We used to buy commercial pre-starter, starter and finisher feed. Can i use the fermentation method on all these varieties of feed ? Do you have any suggestions on fermenting the feed in large scale? ..That greatly helps us in saving money from huge feed cost in India..Thanks

bhanu teja Cirivelu I wonder if you have tried this method? I imagine you could start with a portion and see how it works.

@@bushveldkid7640 Yes, i tried with small portion. But in large scale the only thing that worries me is the unconsumed feed that we given to hens. since the fermented feed is moist in nature it will start molding in couple of hours. I need to find some good solution for this.

@@bhanutejacirivelu42 Thing is you should only ferment feed that can be consumed within a day. So the total amount of feed that you ferment solely depends on how much chickens you have.

Maybe the genuine reason things are as they are is down to us assuming companies establishments and factions have our best interests at heart instead of their personal and collective agenda...understand !!! profit is the motivation not our health wellbeing or admiration...so if the wool can be pulled over your eyes it will be,,,,,,, FACT. As far as I understand the fermented feed should be given 24 hours or twice in a day that can last foe 24 hours.
